Just wondering how many people are or plan to run 2 separate tunes for NA/Spray. I'm going to be starting the 90mm plate install this weekend on the G8, and next week will be at my tuner. talking to him @ his shop were planning on going with dual tunes in which I'll have the .bin file saved to my computer and I'll swap the tunes out with my HPT @ home. Just curious to see the number of people running their cars like this or fully on the nitrous tune. I know a ton of cars in my area, primarily fbodies, DD their cars on the nitrous tunes and are still getting 20+mpg.

I'll never put nitrous on the G8, but my 02 Camaro SS I had both a nitrous and N/A tune. However, I never used the N/A tune, cause ya never know when you might want to spray. :)

That's my frame of mind too. Manly on the TA, but with the G8 as well. Both have electric openers and warmers, so I could pull a fast one on somebody if needed be!

Nitrous Outlet. Not a specific kit, but pieced together from spare solenoids, lines, and bought an independant controller w/ 90mm plate.

One thing I saw that was interesting and I can't remember where I saw it:
Setting up HP Tuners to pull the required timing at a certain IAT. Wire a resistor into the arming setup so that when the system is armed, the car thinks it is as 220*(or whatever) IAT. That puts you in the right area of the table to pull the requested time, and voila.
When you disarm, the IAT sensor goes back to working and your car is back on the regular tune.
That only works when sprayed before the MAF though, so it can meter the addition. But a good example of thinking outside of the box.

That IS a pretty good idea. Useless for my setup, but quite clever. I'll try to find more about this.

I was thinking about Spray, as I had it on my Truck before my G8........but I do not want to deal with two tunes........Some one was telling me about a possible way of setting up a dry system with only one tune......It was one of those third party information things....... so more research here also.

If you're running a wet shot, there is no need to run 2 different tunes. There are a couple of ways to pull timing with the spray activated. The best way to do it is with a timing tuner. It will pull timing when the activation circuit is closed and pull a prescribed amount of timing. Being that it is a wet shot, the fuel solenoid/jet will provide the proper fuel enrichment that is needed beyond typical NA power enrichment schemes. Nitrous Dave has them available on his website.
As far as the mpg is concerned, there shouldn't be any change in fuel economy in part throttle mode. Fueling and spark shouldn't change when not in open loop power enrichment. Nitrous requires additional fuel above NA power enrichment, but again that is only when you're in open loop PE.

Isn't the general rule of thumb 2* retard on timing for every 50hp of nitrous? I have given a timing tuner thought but have yet to make a decision. Seeing as I already have HPT, the only thing I would have to do is have my tuner send the tunes to me as a .bin file, to which I could copy and throw in whenever I go to the track.

As modern-muscle has said, it isn't necessary to run two tunes, as long as you have a competent tuner for nitrous, he can make the tune compatible for street use, w/ little to no mpg loss. In my parts, we have numerous LSx cars running around on nitrous tunes, and are still getting 18-20/25+ mpg out of the tunes. I was just wondering whos is going to be switching back and forth like I plan to.

I will be, but I haven't figured out if I'm going to run my own HPTuners setup or go with a VMS/powerflash and switch out the tunes.
