Maiden voyage is scheduled for Sunday to break the converter in. My Plan is to cruise hwy 6 from 288 to Co. Rd 99. Maybe 4 trips. If anybody wants to hook up for lunch out that way we can have a mini get together if you like. Remember, NO RAIN or NO Charlie! lol

Well, since I use a Mustang engine as a starter motor I think it should be enough! :nah:

I can't wait to see that thing go. Charlie, we should have member's guess your time with all your mods like the show pass time on the speed channel. Closest time gets a GRRRR8 prize of some sort.

Under 12.0 and over 11.20. That I know for sure!

Over 11.20? You dyno-ed the car right? I remember that turbo charged G8 running 11 flat but I think it had over 600 rwhp. You with that stall should make a HUGE difference. You should try gears. Change your final drive gear to like 3.57 or something.

GRRRR8
03-19-2009, 07:30 PM
Not on the dyno yet, just got it running. Tuning is next and break in. the stall wil effect my dyno #s, but I never cared about dyno, only ET. It should be 475+ to the wheels. The TT car has a lot of TQ that helps propel the car. I can safely say mid 11s with ease.

Nothing! :) I would say if I had any concern it would be the transmission, but it shouldnt take more then 3 passes to achieve my goal. I am hoping to do it in one!

I will be happy with an 11.50 as that will be the N/A record for stock short block/cubes. I think I can go in the 40s though.

99-LS1-SS
03-20-2009, 09:09 AM
I think you can hit 40's too. You might even touch 30's. I think the weight of the car will start to have an impact on the launch. Do you have drag shocks/springs? It's going to be hard to transfer the weight isn't it?

I think the frt/rears will have to be switched to coilovers so I can swap springs and set the chasis up to transfer easier, but if it will 60 ft in the 1.60s, it really comes down to it having the power to pull it through the big end. Once I can put in on the converter for some testing, I will know right then what its going to do.

If you 60' in the 1.60's with that tank, you'll be moving!

I was able to get into the high 1.7s with less power and a lower stall speed, on 18" DRs that I borrowed for 2 passes.

;)

I have no doubt that I can get low 1.7s or high 1.6s this year.

With his set-up, 1.6s should be a given.
