Thinking of heading toward Dallas from SC, and was curious how is I-20 from Columbia, SC to Dallas, TX. Any major construction going on in either state, or bad spots to try and avoid, pot holes, loose gravel, etc..? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The stretch going through Shreveport, LA, to Longview, TX, is pretty nice as long as you don't get off the interstate. If you do I make no promises...

ok, sounds good. Thanks. Is setting the cruise at about 79 mph is still safe to drive on through? Any traps to be be aware of?

I've always been told to watch out in Mississippi.....they will get you even 1 mile per hour over the limit. I never took any chances to find out on the times I drove through there, but I always saw a few highway patrols along I-20.
