Looking to Get That "Evo-Type" Handling

Coming from an '08 Evo X MR as my most recent car, I've been pretty damn spoiled with superior handling right out of the box.

I'm looking to get the G8 GT on the same level so me and freeway onramps can be best friends again at higher than posted speeds.

I'm new to this car and it's Vendors, I understand Pedders & BMR are the way to go? So give me a list of what I'll need to get this beast on the Evo's level in terms of handling.

*(And if at all possible, I'm trying to avoid paying over the $3,000 mark.)

This car weighs a little more than an EVO. I think you can do it with Pedders. Find someone with a Pedderized G8 and take it for a ride.

Mike or DMS as he's known on this board, is a install trainer for Pedders USA. He wrote the book on installs. :)

Maybe a set of Coilovers would do the Trick? Tein's make a set as do Pedders.

If all goes well, I am going to do a TrackII with Xa coil overs on April 2 and 3rd. I am doing it alittle different than a normal dealer. Some may know, I am the trainer and technical assistance guy for Pedders. I am going to use this G8 to make maybe 10-15 Technnical assistance manuals on Processes and procedures for doing the components in my driveway. So eventually, I will have tech sheets on things like sway bars, front radius rod bushings, lower control arm bushings, Xa coil over enhancements strut tower brace, and the rear bushes in the rear. I have already posted these tech notes on the rear diff insert bushes, the rear cradle insert bushes, and the coilover alignment processes.

I am in Livermore, If you want to go on a road test with me, I would welcome you to come to livermore for a roadtest with me.

But be advised, I already know what this car will do. It will seriously out handle a new M3 and a M5! this is the same system that Pete Basica has on his G8. It is going to be tested in New Jersey and evaluated by professional NASCAR drivers. Check out the link in this section on Pedders Benchmark test in NJ.

I think I'll be going with the Street II Package.

Has anyone measured the lateral acceleration with the Street II Kit? For example the Evo gets .99g. A Stock GT is .84g.

They had 2 G8's with the track II w/xa coilovers that did 1.03g & 1.05g at that event out on the east coast. I'm sure mike/dms will chime in, as it was him that wrote the post I had read about it.

I just got the Street 2 Drop installed about 2 weeks ago. I am still waiting for the Strut tower brace before I give a review on her. So far, I am pleased with it but will be doing more work unless this brace does the trick.

It provides more stiffness between the struts. It is supposed to reduce body roll. They work best with sway bars. Well, at least that is my understanding.
