So my middle son is coming of driving age and wants a G8, he has found a 09 with 150,000 miles on it.
What do I need to be aware of/watch out for?

Engine issues - chains, etc

This isn't the same as the V6 in the other GM corporate vehicles [CTS, Camaro, etc]

For the cost difference I would hate to say it but a GT may be better...but I understand the power issue. But from a maintenance perspective I would not really want a V6, and I am assuming he does not know the car / history?

Yep, chains! Not an easy job, but one that will need to be done.

Thanks guys.
I thought chains were probably the biggest concern.
Owner is unable to produce verifiable history of chain replacement so passing on this one.
Appreciate the input.
