The snow is melted and I dont think its comming back till next year.. So its time to pesonalize my g8... I already have the Holden V8 badges... Pontiac is comming off the trunk, the windows are already tinted and I ordered some grey vinyl for the blinkers and what ever else I see fit to use it for.... That front plate bracket has to come off... The question is what do I do with the holes that are going to be left???????????

Put plastic caps in the holes maybe.

That's what I did! Bought them at Lowes! You can barely see them. I think mine were 3/16" black caps.

For once I might have a (pricey) solution. http://www.cando.com/eric/uploads/srx-tow-plugs.jpg

From http://www.bumperplugs.com/BPindex.html, most obscene website in history, turn down your volume. Yes they cost $$$, yes it was a PERFECT match. Yes it was worth it to me. YMMV. They are color matched to your paint code.

Nope! Hole caps. Like if you had a control panel with an empty switch hole. These are those! lol

There are pics here somewhere.

I've heard of people using those caps, haven't seen any pics though. Anything is better than the big open gaping holes! Glad our dealer gave us the front plate option, eventhough it's mandatory to have them in TX.

I debadged my car the other day (hate that glue crap they use) and went to take off the front plate thinking it was just stuck on...surprise! 3 gaping holes...why don't the dealerships leave this for the buyer to decide? When I bought the Corvette, they gave me the front plate attachment to do myself or leave off...

State legislations vary. Your state may have some sort of enactment on all dealerships HAVE to place it on prior to selling the car.

Bumper Plugs I linked to above aren't that expensive ($25) if you value time to paint, clear, etc. Plus you should have flex agent in there as well I'd bet. Mine still look great on the SRX. The G8 came sans front plate holder so I'm good to go. (It was in the trunk!)

Lucky bastards! I finally had to put mine on yesterday since the temp tag in the rear window expired. At least I tinted the cover a bit. F'ing WA.

Mine cost me about $.80 cents to make. :) Since I work in the parts at a Toyota dealer, I searched our bins for the perfect clip. Then I took picked the closest silver touch up paint we have and then painted them. It came out pretty good and looks sooooooo much better than that stupid bracket!

i got lucky. my car was from Michigan but i bought in NJ. I bought the car before the dealership could destroy the bumper with a plate bracket :)

Yeah... mine is from texas but the dealer never installed the bracket

Will probably make a custom one when I get back that does not actually mount to the bumper
