I got zapped by a laser gun today going 64 in a 45 mph zone. Gorgeous young female cop, gave her my license and registration, she came back in a minute and said well, it's been 7 years since you got a speeding ticket your radar detector must be working well, haha! and said have a nice day. She also told me that they're pretty useless against laser which I already knew, but I'm a happy man.

:woohoo:

These things are dangerous, it zapped me for a second or less, no time to slow down at all and I knew it too, my Valentine caught it. This is the second time I've been zapped by laser, if laser becomes widespread conventional detectors will be obsolete. This happened right in front of the dealer's where I bought my car too.

That's funny. Do you have a front plate? Glad you got let go. I'm sure I won't be so lucky next time :)

You do know that many non-laser radar detectors have "instant-on", meaning they put out nothing, hit a button and bam gotcha. Only way to beat that is hope the cop is hitting cars frequently.

I believe radar scramblers are illegal in all states. Radar detectors of course are legal but don't protect against Laser. Laser jammers are still legal in most states, but you need to get one that has jammers/sensors that can be mounted on each side of your plate, or anywhere on the front of your car, as that's the first place the cops will attempt to get a reading. I've been looking at the Bel RX75 Plus for awhile, just haven't decided if I want to spend $1000 on it. From what I understand it's one of the best at jamming lasers. Who's gonna be the first to buy it and test it for everyone....lolhttps://www.beltronics.com/store/rx75-plus.html

I got blasted by one of those recently too, but wasn't speeding. I also got zapped one other time by laser. I've thought of buying a laser jammer too just that they're so damn expensive. I've got a front plate, MA went to two plates years ago, my father still has his one plate though, but they're trying to phase them out. My father painted his but you're not supposed to, I told him where to go to get a sticker as the first place he went to turned him down because the plate wasn't shiny enough supposedly. Yeah I couldn't believe the cop, never seen one look like that before, she had the personality to match too, sunny like the day.

Thought you'd be out wallpapering your car with R.A.M. tiles ?
How about a tinfoil strip "chaff" dispenser like planes have.

Here the police have been known to park on freeway on ramps and shoot you up the date with a laser as you go past on the freeway. Not much you can do about that.

Laser is thicker than fleas on a dog around here. The V1 screams like raped chicken so I just ignore them now.

Oh crap! Actually I really never have heard a raped chicken. Honest!

It's always nice to get a break...

I have a clean record, never had a single point and one night I was heading home from a friends house around 3am. I only saw a few cars the whole way home and rolled up on a Camaro (I was driving my head/cam Vette). He started revving and egging me on and I let him get the best of me. We went from about a 40 roll to 140 on a 40 mph 4-lane road. Next thing I know, I see this car flying up behind me and the lights came on. I pulled over and when he came up to the car I was already apologizing saying it was the dumbest thing I ever did and that I was sorry. The other car kept going (even though he was behind me ). All I could think about was that I was going to jail and getting a reckless driving ticket... He let me sit in the car for a while and walked back up with me expecting the worst. He said "You have a clean record, you were honest with me, you stopped, I appreciate that" and handed me a ticket. I was scared to looked and to my surprise it was a seatbelt ticket which has no points and a small fine. Needless to say I didn;t do that again...

Funniest one I ever saw was when we were headed home one night. There was a GT500 and a Jetta yes a Jetta. Well the Jetta got the GT to jump on it as they were approaching a off ramp(one were the cops always sit on the other side and shoot you up the tail) Needless to say the GT ran away from the Jetta so fast that that state cop was down the ramp before the Jetta got there. I would have to guess that he buzzed by the cop at about 130 :spank:
