RX8's...um make alot of noise

I was drivin home yesterday (in my truck, 09 Z71 CC) and there's this little red RX8 with this big ol wing buzzin around between cars so i fall in behind him and start changing lanes with him. At a light he starts revin his little tin can so i drop it into Tow/haul mode and he gets a pretty good shot off the line( about 1.5 truck lengths) i spun the tires and quickly reached down to turn off traction control and stay in it rollin up on his side and roll right on buy his little "bee" so then i slow down at about 60 and let him catch up. When he does he down shifts and i nail it and just gradually begin to walk right on buy him and the truck is completely stock with 3.42's!

I thought those things were suppose to be fast? i really wished id have been in the G8, man i hate rice burners!

They are so overrated unless modded. They have major engine issues with vac loss if not driven, due to the rotors not sealing. They dont look that good and there is far better out there for the price. What are you doing out there racing in a Z71 CC?!?! Sounds like me! If its got a steering wheel and a motor.........ITS ON! :devil:

You know sometimes you just have to put some kids in their place.....Why not do it with a full size 4 door 4wd truck! My 10y/o was pointing and laughing at him as we rolled by him.

I think stock they're about a 5.8sec 0-60 car. About 250HP at the crank? Not bad, but nothing like the old RX-7s.


They're more like an oversized Miata I think. But not all that fast of a car either way.

That is freakin hilarious. i bet that dude's pride was definitely hurt by the fact that you beat him in a big heavy truck, but then, to have a little kid pointing and laughing!! Talk about rubbing it in, I bet he sells that RX-8!

I used to sell Mazda's and we had to tell our customers that the RX8 will consume about 1 quart of oil every 1000-1500 miles. Its also recommended to let the car idle minimum of 5 mins on every start to allow oil circulation.

a little late but no my truck has the 5.3 with the 6 speed and i saw it again the other day, looked ilke the same kid driving it. he has a carbon fiber hood on it now.
