I thought I'd start a thread to take up questions & answers relating to the performance of the Vararam Intake since it's coming out now. Also, reviews of it (installation or performance) could be posted here.
So, I'll start it out.
1. anyone know of the horsepower improvement over stock with this system?
2. how is the noise level compared to what was looking like the perennial favorite, the Roto Fab?
3. Is it really a true ram air system?
4. How does high speed affect the integrity of the air filter element?
5. If you now have a RF, will you need a retune with the Vararam?
Please forgive any questions if they have already been answered elsewhere; they could be condensed here for easy reference. If a similar thread has been started elsewhere it had better be Grrrr8! In which case a mod can delete this one.

Thanks George. I'm glad VMS is testing it.

I am really hoping that the Vararam delivers two things. One, same or better rwhp than the RF, and two, noticably quieter than the RF. If the Vararam delivers on both of those two points I'll buy one.

I would imagine it will sound pretty similar to the NEP OTR. Most aftermarket CAI's usually are louder than stock because they don't have the sound deadening baffles.

Isn't the Vararam an enclosed intake, that is, it has a single opening at the front down below the radiator so it might have significant noise abatement. The NEP or RF for that matter are open quite a bit and so have pretty loud induction noise.

It has an unobstructed direct opening, so there's no way to muffle the intake sound.

I for one love the louder whooshing of air, makes me feel faster, and I know it's the closest sound I'll ever have to a supercharger...:(
