I was bored as hell! I have been wanting to do this for a while, I saw it on G8Smitty's G8 and knew right then it was the mod for me.....Easy to remove the grills WITHOUT taking the bumper off! Sorry for the shitty pics, I was too lazy to move the car out of the sun.

Prepped (after some sanding to help adhesion):

Painted and installed:

Could you tell us what type of paint and primer you used. That looks excellent! I will never get my car done!

Good Ole Krylon Primer and Paint. The paint is flat black, and the primer was fast drying / sandable. The prepwork is what makes the paint last (or so I have been told), so I took my time for once and prepped~!

Looks great! Okay, how'd you get them off WITHOUT taking off the bumper? Charlie said that the manual said to pull, but the honeycomb portion was starting to bend as I was pulling, so I decided to remove the bumper. Although I really don't have a need to get them off again, I would like to know the trick.

Thanks,
Chris

Very nice, would also like to know how you popped them off. I plan on painting mine to match the body along with the lower fascia area.

Patience.....and a few screw drivers (flat head) placed in the locks. Pulled them right out.

Good info. One of the pieces on mine broke, guessing a rock or something, so now I gotta get a whole new one. I was worried the removal was a pain, but that sounds easy enough.

yours looks real good. i did mine with black out trim paint, it has a little more gloss but kind of blends in with the panther black body color. seperating the grille from the trim shell was a pain, I used adhesion promoter instead.

looks VERY nice Ive been planning on doing this as well...

ANY DIY for taking off this piece without having to take the bumper off or risk scratching the car?

There are alot of clips that need to be released to get them off the bumper. Getting the chrome rings off the honeycomb is a bigger pain. First clip I tried, I snapped. I let my bodyman finish that for me before I broke them all.
