For you guys that are out there making runs in your G8, post up your home track, or where you take your G8 or other modified car to run.

My home track is O'Reilly Raceway Park. Was Indianapolis Raceway Park for years. Locals still call it IRP.

The other track I'll be making a visit to this Spring will be Muncie Dragway.

So...lets see where you race!

You guys are crazy! You mean, you guys actually take your nice sedans and drive them at drag strips!??

Well, if I raced. I guess I would go to Stanton, MI - Milan, MI - or 131.

At some point I will hit MIR (http://www.mirdrag.com) and maybe Capital (http://http://www.capitolraceway.com/) but getting up there on a friday is a bit of a pain cause of traffic.

I just need to bite the bullet and get a helmet....

Why is that?

Great Density Altitude (DA), good DA is negative, bad DA is positive.

Good DA with good driving should get you a 13.5 or lower out of this car.

I wish I knew the DA when I did my 13.5. I believe all of these cars are capable of a stock run that fast. It just takes some practice and really getting a feel for your car. :)

I kinda figured that was the reason...Do they rate tracks accordingly?

If you have the timeslip and it lists the date, you can go to dragtimes.com and it will tell you the DA.

I'm not sure if they rate them but dragtimes.com has DA info for most tracks.

Thanks I just talked to Joe and we should be at Maple Grove 3 weeks from now.

Kil Kare (Xenia, Ohio) would be the closest (only 10 minutes away!). I like racing at Norwalk best, though.
