I was looking at my New Era OTR/CAI today and I noticed that the Harmonic Balancer was moving all over, the center of the balancer was firmly secured although the outside was moving around quite a bit. Is this a common thing or do you think that its bad?:uhm:

Goat thats almost normal with the stock balancer. Get a Powerbond from Mike with a ARP bolt and that will be better.

Photobucket. If you don't have an account, you can create one for free.
Upload your video there, and then link it here.

All balancers whether stock or aftermarket have a bit of runout. When over .050, IIRC, is when it's considered excessive but not necessarily detrimental. The ASP unit I just sold for an ls1 only had .015 max (checked @ work with dial and spinning pulley in a spindle/chuck) so the aftermarket pieces are worth it in that sense, as well as hp/parasitic loss purposes.

I can't seem to get it to display the video.

I was at the dealership today and the service rep. told me that the balancer was indeed bad and that they were going to swap it out for a new one...
