Weights, width, height, RPM, and wear all vary from brand to brand, but are quite close to these numbers. Note: SECTION WIDTH is not TREAD width, but is important relative to the fit when considered with the rim offset.

Rim offset - OEM is 48 mm. This means that from the inside of the hub to the inside rim edge, is 48 mm. The higher the number the less the wheel sticks out towards the fender edge.

Problem is in a heavy turn, I'm rubbing the rear tires w/the fender.

Do I change my rims/offset or tire size?

Any recommendations?

More positive offset. 48 for the fronts, and 50-55 for the rears.

Here is image that shows offset on a wheel. It is measured from the center of a wheels ( center = zero offset), a Positive offset will tuck under a car. A Negative will protrude out.

PLEASE HELP, NEW MEMBER, I HAVE FOUND SOME WHEELS WITH DEEP DISH, TO BE CORRECT (NLMOTORING.COM) XXR 526'S ONE IS A 20x9 (+13) AND ONE IS A 20x9(+35), WILL 245/35/20'S BE A GOOD FOR THAT WHEEL AND IS THE G8 LUG FITMENT 5x120? Your offsets are about an inch further out than what works IMO.

Are you wanting to run 245's all around, or just the front?

With 245's on the front, you should look between (+30 to +40) IMO.

With 275's on the rear, offsets should be close to +50....Stock HSV 9.5" wide wheel offset is +57 (+45 to +60)

Most vmr owner's (no offense) and most g8 owners when they replace the stock wheels, they all go with something with no lip, and i get it, thats their thing, but i dig fat lips (lol)

also would running an 11" wheel in the rear rob the g8gt of performance?

ALSO WOULD RUNNING AN 11" WHEEL REQUIRE FENDER/WHEEL WELL MODS?

You will have to a lot modifying to do to run 11" wheel in the rear plus the offset will need to be in the +50's.

If you like "Dish", look at TSW BEYERN wheels for BMW. If you go to their website (TSW) their wheel specs show lip width. I am running Beyern Multi 19 x 8.5 40 offset fronts - stock tires, and 19 x 9.5" 45 offset rear using 285 050A's. Lots of cool lip. On my other G8, I am running Breyton Race CS which have lots of lip. TireRack sold these, but deleted the G8 usage due to cut tires. Mine are 19 x 8.5" 30 offset fronts and 19 x 9.5" 35 offset rears. The 275 050A's got cut on the drivers side, before I rolled the fenders. G8 rear fenders have a square lip which easily cuts tires.

And the xxr 526's look almost the same but with a slightly deeper dish lip in the rear, now, just fmi, why would i run a +35 in the rear and the +13 in the front if the offset puts the wheel center farther in, in the rear and farther out in the front? I may be confused or i d k. Like i know the offset is to help for wheel fitment, but i still want that same look, and im afraid of, if what im assuming is right, that the offset's are going to compromise the fat lip rear, skinny lip front look im going for. The smaller the offset number, the further the wheel sticks out given the same width. I had a set of Shuk wheels on a GTO that were 8" 40 offset in front and 9" 48 offset in rear and the lip width was identical.

13 offset fronts will stick out further than 35 in rear, unless you are doing like 8" front width and 10+" in back. Front fenders are factory rolled, so even if they rub, it is unlikely you will cut a tire, but you could easily bend the fender if the tire hits too hard.

There is a solution to having really deep dish wide + 13 offset wheels... Buy 17" and put smaller diameter wheels, like 305 - 20 - 17" in rear!:shutup: Will look like a rice rocket,:cool2: but they will have really deep dish and stick out a couple inches beyond the fender.:brock::cheers:

ACCORDING TO THE TIRE SIZE CALCULATORS, THE 13 DOES NOT STICK OUT AS FAR AS THE 35. I THINK OUR DEFINITIONS OF STICKING OUT MIGHT BE DIFFERENT. I MEAN STICKING OUT FARTHER FROM THE CENTER OF THE WHEEL NOT AS IN THE WHEEL WILL STICK OUT FARTHER FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN MOUNTED. THAT'S WHERE THE CONFUSION MAY BE. I LOOKED ON THE TIRE CALC AND THE OFFSET CALC, AND FROM CENTER WHEEL, THE MOUNTING FACE WAS PUSHED OUT FARTHER ON THE 35, GIVING THE WHEEL ITSELF A SMALLER LIP, AND THE 13'S VICE VERSA. ANYWAY, WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD TIRE FOR ALL FOUR, CONSIDERING THE WHEELS ARE 20x9 AND I DONT HAVE A CHOICE ON WIDTH. ITS 9" OR 11" THATS IT. AND IVE BEEN TOLD 11" MEANS MODDING THE FENDERS, NOT GONNA DO THAT, EVEN ON THE REAR. AND I DONT WANT ANOTHER WHEEL. SOOOOO....? GOOD TIRE CHOICE, SAME FOR ALL FOUR OR SHOULD I GET A LARGER PROFILE FOR THE REAR? (ALL 4 WHEELS ARE 9"WIDE)
