View Full Version : Will I be the first GXP with long tube headers?

I'm installing my ARH headers this weekend. I was wondering if anyone else had put header on a GXP yet? My only concern is the mufflers bolting up to the x-pipe. When I bought them they were sure if they would bolt right up because no one had done it yet. I can't imaging the bolt pattern/angle being different but you never know. The mufflers are different on the GXP than the one's on the GT. I'm crossing my fingers.

If anyone has any experience with the GXP and long tube headers let me know. Thanks.

I can delete my post if you like :) I met the guy one day at lunch and his car still had the dealer places and already had a tune and headers

Did he happen to discuss any fitment issues?

Speaking of fitment issues, are you still sleeping in the GXP?

No, I've progressed to sleeping beside it.

I really didnt ask him... I asked him how he liked the car and that was about it... I was pulling in and he was leaving so didnt talk much.

Looks like I might be able to swing a baseline dyno run tonight. It all hinges on me being able to leave work early. I'll video the dyno and take pics of the header install

Just curious......do things like Intakes, Cams, Headers and Exhaust for the G8 GT also fit the GXP?

I'm pretty sure they do. I'll find out for sure tomorrow morning...

The only thing I'm concerned about is the axle back flange on the stock mufflers hooking up with the x-pipe of the headers.

I'm concerned too because I Might get those (GXP) axle backs.

It should be the same from the pics I have seen of GXP muffs.

Have a look and make sure the clutch fluid line from master to slave is a good distance away from your new headers.

Refer to this thread if you didn't see it: http://www.forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=4447&highlight=clutch

Everything seemed to be fine. I'll post up pics of the stock GXP exhaust later. I think it is a good deal different.
