Do you know anything about this stereo upgrade?

Nope, that's the first time I've seen it.
You can buy it cheaper than I can so send them an e-mail and ask how much.

Cool. Just figured I would ask since you are the go to guy for HSV parts.

Walkinshaw Performance, Holden, & HSV are 3 seperate entities. But there's some overlap on occasion. If I told you I fully understood it all I'd be lying.

Would be cheaper to drop it off at a stereo shop and have them do it for you...

I would probably install it myself. I like the idea of a neat little package and curious about the " factory integration ". I will email them and find out the crazy price.

Here are details. Price excluding tax and shipping is 2700 AUD. Not too hatefull given all that comes with it.(IMO)

O.K., after some research I have found most of those exact components for way less. I don't know exactly which 8" subs they are using though.

Yeah, other than it being a speaker upgrade "package" I don't see the point.

Which components of the system have you found and where?

I can't find anything from JBL that exactly matches the given specs...

Closest speakers are the GTO628 (http://www.jbl.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=GTO628&Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA&cat=MEL&ser=GTO) ~$70/pr but no crossover listed.

Closest amplifier is the GTO3501 (http://www.jbl.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=GTO3501&Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA&cat=AMP&ser=GTS) ~$180

The sub is a mystery...

Those are the same ones I found: JBL Amp- GTO3501

JBL Speakers- GTO628

The Subs I was thinking might still be Blaupunkt, but even so that amp is a one channel mono amp. Can you bridge it to two subs? Thats where I get lost.

It all depends on what load you want to present to the amplifier.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-XjwwOgx735g/learn/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html

I was thinking they are using Blaupunkt subs as well but I can't find any component Blaupunkts in an 8" size.

I will probably stick some Rockford Fosgates in there anyways. I had some many years ago when I still had all my hearing. I just want clarity anyways and I hate the stock speakers. It is really last on my mod priorities. I can't stop obssesing over the "Maggie" right now. Hopefully, June will be the month I can get it. New baby on the way so I'm trying to get all I can before the end of October!

Wow, 2700.... my Alpine gear was close on 4000. Mind you, it has A LOT more power than the Walkinshaw upgrade :D

Edit: I should add that my car has been to Walkinshaw for a 'Power Pack' (I/T/E) and coil overs. When they saw my install, they were amazed :p
