LOL! That's swell of them. I'm going to have to pass on the Firehawk. I'll manage to make due with the GXP and some mods.

I must say the pictures look good. Any idea of pricing for the biggest/baddest SC version? Nevermind, I found it.

"MOTOR CITY MUSCLE IS BACK!" -- all thanks to Holden. I've been to Australia, cars here really don't compare lol. its like being stuck in a time warp of fucked up proportions, nothing but rear wheel drive big V8's and turbo 6's everywhere. I counted six ricers, yes six the entire duration of my 3 week vacation (Victoria, NSW, Queensland). I had a hard time finding gas stations in Melbourne that were selling anything less than 98 octane fuel... not a fan of SLP's move on this one, should've kept that badging for the T/A... I know I'm not alone on this one, in a big way lol.

Are you looking at the same pics I am?
Those SLP tips are slick and WAY better looking than stock.

Its not an $800 dollar credit, there charging you $800 to get your orinigal rims and parts back! They are figuring reselling your rims into there ridiculus price.
If you wish to retain the OE take-off parts, including the 19” wheels, and have them returned to you, there is a charge of $800 plus shipping. The reason is we have priced the Firehawk alteration based on the value we recover from selling the stock take-off components.

I don't want a big debate, I know everybody has their own opinion. I personally think they are terrible.

From what a see a "stock" GXP is only .3 sec's off on the 0-60 from the 50K FirePigeon... errr Hawk.. :nah:

Pardon my ignorance but how much would it take for someone to just buy the parts, have a shop install them and get the same figures with out having to pay for the Firehawk emblems?
hmmmm.... so for 19795 I get a g8 with
Eibach springs- 400 installed
Custom axlebacks- let us say 350 installed (local muffler shop)
A maggie- 6500 installed (livernois)
CAI- 450 installed (just about anywhere)
Custom paint- 350 (local body shop)
Custom wheels- 1000 (that is how much the set I want is shipped)
Custom spoiler- little hard to find but hey no more than 500
Car cover- 150
Badging and leather- 2000 (katzkin)
Floor Mats- 350
Sundry bric a brac- 300
All my estimates are on the high side of reasonable....
Grand total of 12350.
Seems more reasonable to do my upcoming GTP package. It will be easier to drive, more classy, probably faster for the average driver and around 10K with a bunch of coll electronics and stuff...
Hell by the time we get to Firehawk money we are talking full aftermarket brembos and a carpc...
Just a thought.

Just an opinion, but the wheels are nothing special, the stripe isn't too appealing, and it doesn't seem worth it in the least bit. That's obvious now by the breakdown in pricing that was offered by p71. Who in their right mind would spend 20k on modding a car that was bought for basically budget minded performance.....Bah what do i know lol. I'll just stick with my GT with a few mods coming up and be happy that i'm not as silly as someone who is willing to spend that much money on something that's not a rare exotic.

What I was meaning is they are giving you $800.00 for all your brand new stuff. That means if you want your parts and wheels you need to pay them $800.00. We are saying the same thing just wording it different. :boxing:

Althought the name sickens me.....the car does look badass, at least the animated rendering of the black one does! I actually like the tips though.
I chuckle though at the attempt to dethrone the Euro sedans, but last time I checked, the new CTS-V was the one that was King of the Four-Door Hill, at least in the Nurburgring's mind anyways.

Yes, but if you dont have SLP install all those components, you will not have a Warranty anymore. Its expensive, but your getting a 12 sec sedan with more warranty than our cars new, because you also get a warranty from SLP, on top of the GM warranty.

I personally think the car is pretty bad ass. Blown, warranty....what more can a consumer ask for? At the rate they are building these, I think the program is a success and the general public likes them.
SLP and Ed have been around a long time, I know Ed pretty well and he as a clear vision of the future. Pretty smart guy if you ask me.

Trueish...
And I am not knocking SLP at all... I wanted an old firehawk so badly (better looking than TA) and I really like the old SS camaros...
However, IMHO GM should be in business with Magnacharger. The Maggie should be a dealer authorised accesory. Failing that SLP should offer the Maggie with warranty as a stand alone stealth option. Failing that Magnacharger should replicate SLP's warranty program through it's authorised dealers (I know there is an available add on warranty that helps to defray some costsm and that is a worthy starting point). My point is if Roush can do it...
Now I am just some asshole with an opinion on the internet... but I am also a guy who is not purchasing a Maggie at the moment cause it destroys my warranty, and if I can get similar numbers on a NA setup that will cost about the same and be less harsh on my drivetrain, I gotta hedge my bet.
So... I love SLPs effort, if not a couple of items in the result. I think Magnacharger puts out a hell of a product and was goingback and forth on it for months. I just think that anything can be improved.
And the "ish" part... the SLP warranty replaces both the 3/36000 and 10/100000 warranties as they pertain to the driveline (or the entire 100K warranty) with a 3/36000 drivetrain and supecharger warranty.
In essence you have 64K LESS powertrain warranty with this setup. Unless I misread something.

I am trying to understand how you will get similar numbers on an N/A set up AND keep your warranty.

I wonder who will win the Maggie'd aftermarket battle, SLP or Lingenfelter...both offer warranties and similar power...
I am trying to understand how you will get similar numbers on an N/A set up AND keep your warranty.
Grins...
See now the devil is in the details... I never actually said that the NA setup would not void the warranty, I said that the Magnacharger would and that the NA setup was easier on the drivetrain...
Terrible form if you are writing for an english class, SOP if you are debating or writing add copy...
But to clarify...
All major mods will void your warranty.
Magnacharger offers an extra cost partial warranty, if you have no other mods.
The NA setup I am getting has no extra warranty.
SLP and Lingenfelter roll the cost of their warranty escrow (for want of a better term) account into the cost of the mod package.
Seriously though I think that the maggie is a well engineered enough package and they have enough on the line to where I doubt that the engine or tranny is going to blow.
On the other hand I did go through 3 4L series trannies in 7 months on my to GMT 900 series trucks... so hey... yopu pays your money and you makes your choice, right?

Nah... they took the slowest and stuck some of the faster color on it to make it equal to the majority.
