Got a call from Brandon at Pypes asking me to come down to the shop to do the final check fit on the production Pypes axle-backs. All I can say is, it was worth the wait!

The entire unit is polished to a beautiful finish and the double wall tips really make a nice statement at the rear. I will get some better pics when the car is clean but the weather didn't agree with me today.

To be honest, they even sound just a bit better than the pre-production units that I had on the car. Same great tone with just enough muscle sound.

Brandon was also very professional to deal with and def. took care of me and my car. Big thumbs up!!!!

Pics!

Beautiful looking mufflers. Do the hangers go underneath the tips, or are they welded to the sides?

Hmm good question. I think they are just welded to the side. Nice clean welds regardless.

Yes, very nice welds. I'd be concerned those might break off in time.
It's a small weld.

Only video I have is of the pre-production units but they sound identical.

Just got in from installing mine and driving around for a little bit. First impressions are idle is a lot more tame and more of a hum than what i thought it would be. Very pleased with the sound inside the car as it is not too loud and drone is very tolerable in my opinion. AFM sounds a bit weird going in and out but nothing a tune or just getting used to it wouldn't cure. Really want to hear it from outside of the car at this point. Fit and finish are VERY NICE. I'm happy so far, we'll see what the Fiancee thinks!

I'll be interested in seeing what opinions Pypes owners will have of their systems in 6-12 months from now.

I was also in on the pre-production discount, but they took so long to get to market, I decided that they probably won't sound as good with headers, so I cancelled and am going the ARH route.
They do look like a good piece, though, and the price is good. Love those tips!

more than likely tig welded and you dont get a weld that good without good penetration. I wouldnt worry about them breaking. How much and how do they sound

It certainly has good penetration, but what I'm sure Ray means is that the weld and all could break away from the rest of the pipe. The hanger is welded to a small portion of pipe.

Hanger=thick, pipe=thin.

I want to delete first muffler and two bullet resonators.... and replace with an X-pipe.... Any comments or guesses if I will get more throatiness and less hum???

You'll get a noticable increase in power and sound.

I'd be interested if they had different tips. Something more like the SLP tips.
