New to the forum, had my 09 GT since 2009. Loving it more and more...

I am about to take it off the road for a while. Looking to do some inexpensive, but impactful upgrades to it. Any ideas where I should start????

Where have you been and how many miles on the G8?
Unless you have less than 25K miles on it, the shocks and struts were done a long time ago. The strut top bushings collapsed by themselves within 10K just sitting in the garage.
Upgrading these items will really enhance the handling of the G8 better than when it left the factory and provide a foundation for any other suspension enhancements.

Welcome. Depends on what you consider inexpensive. Do you want to go faster? Do you want to sound better? Do you want it to look sexier?

Well it was my day to day since I got it, but now it is my toy. Shocks and struts are already due to be replaced along with the sway bar. It has 111K on it, with no real issues except for basic service.

Currently stock except for K&N air filter. Goals, a little more power without killing the 111k engine and better handling.

Shoot man they are sexy by themselves, but handling and look are prob best. I don't want to put too much stress on the engine as its already got plenty of miles on it.

I know where you are coming from so I suggest just a tune (like from Pat G). That will noticeably perk things up and leave it at that. Also minimal cost compared to stuffing hardware in plus the tune.
Its good you got struts/shocks and sway bar (rear? is good enough) already on the list. PPVs can be had for <$300 and Fe3s <$375. After you get upgraded struts and shocks in, you'll kick yourself for not doing these years ago.

Well. I can tell you that mine has had a Vararam intake, full kooks exhaust through stock mufflers and a tune since 53000 miles. Currently have 121k and going strong. Still had Afm but it is electronically turned off.
I have struts, eibachs and bushings in the garage waiting to be installed.
Intake and exhaust wont kill the engine but will help out power wise a great deal with a good tune. Thats my .02

Agree^^ You don't have to spend a whole lot to get a little more pep out of the car. Believe me, you'll love the extra pep. A Rotofab intake and the Rotofab tune can be had for around $500, maybe a little more. A Pat G tune will cost you more, but it's a better tune too.
If you'd like to keep it stock, I'd at least look in to getting the DOD/AFM stuff out of the engine. It's a ticking time bomb. Then when/if you decide on a tune, they can tune out the AFM instead of around it. I waited too long and had a lifter fail. I was lucky though. The lifter didn't completely disintegrate and crack my block, but it has been known to happen. I'm not saying you have to do this, but I want you to know what's available.
Glad you're here though. Lots of good help on here.

The biggest difference you'll feel is the trans tune! HANDS DOWN the best mod and you'll thank me. Even if you get a handheld tuner, the trans tune really wakes the car up. Personally, I'd look for a decent tuner in your area that has experience with the 6L80E and use them. IMO, there's nothing better than having a local tuner, as long as they're competent.

You boys are wild!!! I was blown away at all the excellent insight. I thank you fellas much!!! I see some ridiculous in my future. Eventually I would like a scoop another GP GXP, I had one GXP and a GTP in the past and they were nasty too. The G8 is truly one of a kind though...
