On the way home last night, I was merging from one highway to another and had a stupid Nissan Versa in front of me going about 45 mph (this is my # 1 pet peeve of other drivers - accelerate when merging onto the highway idiots!!!) :poof:
Once I get some space to pass this moron, I checked if I had room to pass and I did. As I'm checking my mirrors, I see a nice, shiny Mustang GT coming up quick in the fast lane - this is it, I think. Finally a decent race. I flipped it over into sport mode and was ready to rock. As soon he gets even with me, he nails it - didn't even wait to see if I wanted to run. Anticipating that he would and already having it in sport, I nailed it as well and got right behind him (and his temp 30 day tags ). He was trying his best to pull away, but I stayed right on his bumper, even had a little throttle at my disposal.
As soon as the middle lane opened back up, he got over, but kept on the gas. With space in front of me, I was WOT in 3rd gear and nearing 100 mph and reigning him in. As I shifted into 4th, I was past his front bumper and on my way to my first decent kill.
We both shut it down at about 110 and he pulled up next to me with a big smile and a thumbs up - I did the same. When it was said and done, I went from a full car length behind him to a full car length in front of him and was very pleased with my stock car. Both of us seemed to enjoy seeing what the other guy had (I have to assume he was stock as well) and it was awesome because there was no other traffic around to mess with.
Good times - nothing gets your adreneline pumpin quite like that!! :woohoo:
