Hey guys im about to receive the cables to install the tune from vector. Can someone who has done this explain the process. I want to make sure I do it right the first time. Thanks

He has 4 diffrent cables. I was asking because I read somewhere about not leaving the door open or the window down or something! 13QTR did you feel the diffrence?

Not much.....I already had the tune....I was just re-tuning for a lean condition. I tried something and it leaned me out a full point on the afrs.
Tweaked the tq management a hair also....we'll see this sunday. Going to the track.....I now have a set of 275/45-17 drag radials....see what it'll do now...

I would assume UPS sends you a tracking#. I'm still waiting for the cables but they sent me one when my ECM shipped.

Yea they told me a week ago they where going to ship them out. I still haven't gotten anything from them. Not even an email. What is the usual time frame from order to one receiving them?

the ones I just sent back...I waited 4 weeks. They've always called me the day that they were gonna ship them...to make sure I'd be home. I also got a e-mail linking me to the UPS tracking.

Two months? We are shipping in 3-4 weeks max. Have you called to check your status? What is your order number?

I made the order a while back and I just called last week. I think it was on tuesday of last week. The lady say they where going to ship the cables on friday(last friday) or monday(this passed monday) and it friday again and nothing. I also didn't get an order number. I'm the one that paid with a check. It sounded like not to many people pay that way when I spoke to the lady that took my order. So my name should stick out like a sore thumb. That means I should have ordered the cable 3 weeks before I knew I was going to buy my torque converter. LOL
What to do...
Last time I ordered the cables, when Joyce called, to ship, I had to travel that week and had to cancel. Never did get a tune after headers were installed.

I have gotten the cables three times and they always call to verify that I will be able to use them at that time....I did have a longer wait this time then previously but I understand there is a bigger demand for them then the last two times ......but part of the problem is getting the people to send them back to Vector when they are supposed to....they had to call to tell me that they wouldn't be sent when expected because they weren't sent to them when they were told they would be...so it just causes them to get backed up ....and then poor Brandy has to shell out the bad news to those waiting.

That and the release of the Vararam....I am sure they will have a waiting list as soon as they come out with the tune for the Vararam.

My stang is my project car, except the G8 is taking all of my funds. I am glad to hear VMS is doing the V tune. I need to order and hope my cables come within a month.
Note to Vector: Get more cables!!!
I wonder how hard it would be to fab your own cables. I bet the hard would be to track down the pin connectors. hmmmm.

Yep, I think it was Steve that mention it was the LS2Edit cable mated with another programming cable. It would be nice to put one together and to be able to share it with other board members.

Got the cables in yesterday loaded the tune in today. Wow what a diffrence!

Does anyone know how much they'll charge for another tune on one of their already tuned cars? Is it full price? I'd like to throw mine on a dyno and have Kirk do it as it's on the dyno. I would also like to have less TQM in mine. Torque Management, however you abbreviate it.
