Just wanted to say hey to the board. I picked up an 09 G8 GT a little over a week ago. Silver with ~33K miles. Already installed a K&N intake and a Solo J axle back. I had to have more of that V8 sound. No lifter ticking, but there is a mild driver front suspension clunk from time to time (thinking end link). I've been aware of G8s, but now I need to do some serious reading up on them since I have one.

I've been a Pontiac guy for while. I also have a triple black 08 Solstice GXP (tune with hi-flo cats waiting) and a triple black 01 Grand Prix GTP Special Edition (bolt-ons & tune). The GTP was my daily and I'm debating on keeping that or making the G8 the new dd. Attached a few pics.

Welcome!!! Nice find!!! I'm a little partial to the MSM color :) What part of "O-hi-a" are you from?

On edit: nice Solstice too!

Thanks guys.

I'm from the Dayton area. One plus with the MSM color is that it will generally look cleaner for longer than anything else I have. 5 minutes after a fresh wax and the dust will attach my black cars. I always liked the stealth blue on these cars, but I couldn't pass this one up. Pretty low miles, sport and premium packages, and overall a clean car. This is also the first non-boosted car I've had in a while, but something tells me I'll be okay with the 6.0L and that sound.

No immediate plans for the G8 as I'm likely going to have to pick up some winter wheels & tires. Should look into the front suspension noise, but need to read up on that a little more to see if OEM or aftermarket is the best way to go.

And yes the Solstice GXP is a blast to drive. Just an over sized go kart as there isn't much practical about it. Can't complain though as it will corner very well and makes the G8 feel like a boat. The ~300 HP and ~350 torque in such a small package will also get you moving thanks to that power-to-weight ratio :)

Dayton you say? Hit up G8 GT V8 if you want to be included in his email list for SW Ohio activities, such as, they are hitting Kilkare tomorrow night, I alas already have other plans. You can just show up and look for the group of G8's and introduce yourself!

At least 3 will be there. Definitely invited about 20 or so G8s to join us...not sure how many are officially going...
