hello
i have a 2009 G8 6.0l l76 engine im getting rid of the DOD ,got a delete kit from texas speed and i guess im going to install a thumper cam in it ..
and i got a lsx muscle car swap oïl pan for it ....my question is can i keep the l76 oil pump or do i have to install a ls2 oil pump?..my ls swap pan does not have a oil pressure relief valve in it like the stock l76 pan does ...im i going to have to much oil pressure?
thanks !!!

I used a melling high flow pump in place of the stocker. Replacing the oil pump on a used engine always makes good sense.

I used a GM high flow pump. Have fun getting the pickup tube back in :)

Pick up tube isn't the problem. It's that damn 4" stroke. Lol

With regard to the oil pressure relief valve in the oil pan, http://www.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=33532 (this thread by Crazy Paul) says that the valve is not necessary for engines without AFM/DOD. So in that respect, your oil pan choice is fine since you're doing a cam swap.

I had a hard time finding the Dorman plug. I made a post on the g8 owners page and posted what I found. I'll add it here later.

I had to use an alternate plug and buy the washer separate.
