g8 vs Lt1 camaro (not stock). opinions wanted...

so a buddy of mine has a late 90s lt1 camaro with the lt4 package (or whatever). its a m6 and you can hear the cam poppin away with it idling and he claims it to be 400 hp. it has lts on it too. however the cam dont sound much worse than a .480s lift 1st gen small block cam. he cant for the life of him stop sayin how my g8 (mods in sig) dont stand a chance against his camaro. to the best of my knowledge his car only runs 8.5s :puke: on avarage (1/8 mile) and once and a while it will pull out an 8.40 all while on drag radials. from what i been seein my combo should be close to that on street tires correct?? it would probably be faster if he didnt have 300lbs of subs and amps in the trunk... and he talks about my 4 door bein a tank...
i figgure at the very least ill give him a good scare.

i think i could run him down in the quarter but our closest track is only 1/8 mile. im thinkin traction also. with these cold temps (teens) up here my 1st gear is pretty much useless. and i dont even have the converter in yet nor a real tune!! and thanks for the wicked fast replys guys! im glad charlie recruited me... this board owns!

I would say it will be a race. My bestfriend had a LT4 hot-cammed LT1 before his current cammed LS1 and the LT1 would be no problem for the LS1 at all. But the LS1 cars are fast. I bet you could get him quarter mile.

If he has true LT4 heads and the hotcam I'd say that the 400hp is a close/fair estimate but he'd have to have a good tune! If that's an accurate estimate on his part, I'd say you still have about 20-30hp on him, but he's 300-400lbs lighter so that evens everything out.

I'd say driver's race. Your's being an auto w/ the SICK launching ability the G8 has, you'll take him based on the lauch. Go get him!
