What would the labor difference be between an initial DOD delete cam swap, and replacing a cam after a DOD delete cam swap has already been done?
How much of a difference would having link bar lifters add to the swap vs ls7 lifters with trays?

I would say about the same because your still removing the heads to add lifters and maybe Springs also. Springs good for about 25K miles or so. That's my experience doing the work myself same effort.

You can save a bunch of effort by not removing the heads if just swapping cams. To swap lifters you are basically doing everything over again.

I'm talking about just swapping the cam. Lifters don't need replaced, so the heads don't need to come off.
I currently have a 218/230 .595/.605 117+2 cam, Pat G cam. Looking to have my blower base ported and install the rear OD on the Maggie. I talked with Rick C and he suggested a 215/232 .609/.599 113+1 cam. Don't think it's worth the labor to change out the cam.

Your initial post had swapping lifters from LS7's to link bars. As a swap from a DOD cam and adding link bars, the cost would be very similar.
Just swapping a non dod cam would be less than half that.

What I meant by the 2nd line of my initial post was, since I already have link bar lifters, does it add a lot more labor/difficulty to the swap since the link bars can't be pushed up into the trays like the LS7 lifters can. There has to be some trick to keep all the lifters up to swap the cam, but how difficult is it? How much extra would you expect that to be?

It's been posted. Dowels are used to hold the lifters in place. remove rockers, rotate cam to push lifters out of bores. insert dowel pins to hold them up.

I switched from a Livernois cam with similar numbers to your Pat G to a RCR cam very similar to the one he speced for you. I gained 0.5 seconds on the 1/4. Some of that was from porting the heads and some weight reduction.
