This little mofo works like a charm. It's everything the earpiece things are not! Buttons easy to use, great volume even w/o sync. to the the sound system, uses voice commands, etc.

Here is a strange tho'. I tossed my cell up in the cubby where the Atari's used to be, next to the D-Hawk. Before long I got a tpms SYSTEM failure light. NOT a low tire, whole system failure. Then it occurs to the dim witted penguin........oh yeah, tpms uses radio freq. comms. B-tooth cellphone is a RF receiver/transmitter, and so is the Motorola 550. Took the cell out and now I have 1 tire back at 29 lb psi and the rest still at 148.

I'm reasonably sure the 148 lbs. is incorrect.:p :rofl: If keeping the cell down in the center console area fixes it, this is a cheap, easy and very good solution to lackabluetoothitis. :nah:

Those things are great. Just be careful not to answer when you're wife's in the car and your mistress is calling.

I doubt the TPMS failure is related. My Garmin has Bluetooth and I put it in the cubby where the Atari gauges used to be. Sometimes I put my cell phone beside it. Never had any issues with the TPMS.

Yes, i have one of these too. I love it. Everyone i speak with says it has great reception and i sound very clear.
It is much better than the Motorola kit that came installed in my Volvo. Plus, I like being able to now listen to music while talking on bluetooth.

So do we think the tire thing was a fluke?

What's the hassle factor on using this? Do you have to manually pair it to your phone every time? Manually unpair it when you leave the car etc? I'm not very experienced with bluetooth, only had one in my life and reception was so poor I used it about twice.

Good questions. Looks like a suitable sub for factory BT.

I had a Motorola one like Penguin's before I got the Garmin. You do not have to pair it every time; however you do have to turn it on every time you get in the vehicle. Also, if you leave it on and don't move far enough away, it will stay paired (for example, car's parked in the garage and you've got your cell phone in your house). Then when you try to answer your phone, it will answer it in the car instead of at your cell phone.

But if it loses connection (ie. you move the cell phone far enough away that they disconnect) it will power down on its own after so many minutes.

That sounds good. I think I'll give it a shot!

Tom, I have a suspicion of what happened. I'm gonna start a new thread - TPMS Woes.

You'll both like them. Someday I'll get around to reading the instructions. Oh yeah, if the clip doesn't hold tight enuf on the visor, cut 2 small pcs. of black velcro (hook side) and stick 'em on the clip.

T505 for $52 at eCost. http://www.ecost.com/Detail/Cellular++Phones/Motorola/T505-BULK/43887078.aspx?navid=155441514

I have the BlueAnt Supertooth 3 and love it but am buying the T505 for the Caddy on these reviews. I'll post a review of the BlueAnt unit soon.

My wife just got one of these off of eBay for $29. It works great. You only have to pair it up once.

I have actually also found that rather than wasting the battery on the Motorola, just let it turned off.
As soon as I hear my phone ring (kept in my pocket), I press the button on the back of the Motorola to turn it on. It usually pairs and connects by the 4th ring. That way there is no wastage of charge while waiting for calls that may never come in. ;)
