well i was able to wait for 500miles but not a mile more. i just had to see if she would fry the tires from a stop....and well.....she didnt :( not even one chirp.
it was 28* out and dry, 36# of tire pressure....and she couldnt do it. i am very disappointed and a little concerned. and yes, i am pretty sure i killed the traction control. i pushed the trac. cont. button for a sec and then released. now the DIC only said "stability control off" so maybe i didnt do it right.
is that normal for these cars with all that weight and NO tuning of the ECM/TCM? please tell me thats normal
thanks

When my car was stock it would barely spin without foot braking the shit out of it. A CAI and a tune will help. Once the TQ Management is turned down you will have all the tire smoke you could ask for! :woohoo:

Or, you could have a third peddle and smoke will flow freely!

The tourque is limited in the stock tune for both the engine and transmission. It's normal. Even when brake torquing it to do a burn out. There is actually a "Brake TQ limit" in the tune and it's set pretty low. Thats the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty in action.

Or mod the hell out of it and light the tires up at a 40mph roll! :nah:

When my car was stock, I couldn't flat mat it. The tires would just go up in smoke. The throttle had to be rolled on to get a quick launch.

My 1st burnout was in the dealership parking lot. It had no problem braking the tires loose when I held the brakes.

From delivery up until the tires were smoked a many many times I had no trouble lighting them up. I honestly believe she lost a step since the CAI but my VMS tune should be here Tuesday.

When I had the GT, it would not light them up. It would make a slight squeal then just go.
With the GXP, I can light them up at will. I'd swear that my GT would get off the line sooner.
I'd be interested in what an auto GXP will do from a dig.

Yeah, but you bleed Pontiac! Unfair unfair unfair. lolLOL my Pontiac blood makes my car faster? That's good to know because I'd say I've "donated" at least a pint under the hood in the last few weeks.

I didn't even have to power break Tigger to light the tires up.....Now I have to peddle the shit out of him to keep the tires from spinning. Lol!

When mine was new and stock, it wouldn't spin the tires on dry pavement.

Before I put the car away, I spun the tires hard at over 60 passing a car. The road was cold and damp.
It was a bit scary.

It depends on the pavement too. I was able to easily spin on worn smooth pavement like it gets a stop lights etc.

Seems like it is easier to spin the tires now that I have over 7000 miles. Maybe the tires are starting to wear and loose a little grip. They look fine though.

CAI, tune, Long tube headers with full exhaust, and cam, you will smoke them everytime, even if you don't want to lol. DO THOSE THINGS! Maybe add a stall also. Those things+G8=Awsome!
