Got a call from the dealership about a recall. I wasn't able to call them back in time and they didn't specify. Any ideas? I know about the tsb's but didn't know of any actual recalls on the G8.

Sometimes not actually a dealer call, but a bullshit aftermarket company trying to sell you an extended warranty. More than likely you will see a warranty issue here before the dealer contacts you. We have some pretty good connections here! ;)

I'll give them a call Monday to see what they say. I checked the caller ID, it came from the dealership.

Yeah...GM realized they made a mistake with the Dod engine and they're going to install an LS3 in all G8GTs for free.

i was in the dealer earlier this week for the tcm/ecm update, and he said it is now a recall because of saftey concerns so disregard the call about the recall

Yeah...GM realized they made a mistake with the Dod engine and they're going to install an LS3 in all G8GTs for free.

The new fix will be to flash the TCM so that it skips the 2-3 upshift and goes 2-4 instead. Problem solved....GM's way.

If you have your TCM tuned and the dealer wantes to do the TCM flash update, eould I have to get my TCM retuned again ?

I just talked to my dealer in Jacksonville yesterday and they swore that there was no TSB or Recall on my 09 G8 GT. Is it maybe related to only a certain number VINs?
