Welcome to the forum. As far as mods go, try(it's hard) to establish where you want to be in the end. Do you want appearance, or performance, or both? Plan ahead so you don't wind up spending money twice.

Welcome.
Take it from me, IF you do want to do power mods, start with the mind set that you will go BIG and get things that you will only have to do once. Really does suck to remove something that you already put on as an aftermarket item to make room for something bigger. :)

Welcome from Cincinnati and congratulations on your G8 purchase!!!!
As far as recommendations, it really boils down to how fast you want the car to be. For starters, the following list of mods will really wake up the car:
Vararam cold air intake
heat soak reduction kit
Kooks 1 7/8" long tub headers with their catted connection pipes and x-pipe dumping into stock mufflers or axle back of your choice
DOD delete w/performance cam of your choice
17 or 18" drag radials for visits to the strip
Reputable tune for engine and transmission

Not gonna happen on a V6... just saying =)
Welcome to the forums OP, there isn't a ton of stuff to do to the base G8.
I'd look into some suspension, wheels, a tune and maybe an exhaust if you can find one that sounds good.

I shared performance mods thinking that you had purchased a base GT with a V8, but you had noted that it as being a base G8 which would have come with the V6 essentially making the mods that I suggested not applicable. There are still mods for the V6, but I'm not up to speed on them, however there's a great community here to help with those details.
