assuming sticky tires on a good track and no wheel hop, when do you start breaking parts?
when does the stock stuff break?
how about stock but with bushings and axles or whatever the upgrades are to a stock diff?
how about a Camaro diff with bushings and axles?
i assume the 9" and s60 rear end set are unbreakable but they are so much money.
i am trying to determine if i can get by going the Camaro diff route.

I have BMR toe rods and trailing arms. I also have a GXP diff with a TrueTrac. The stock clutched diff is not made for drag. I was getting the one wheel peel. The diff originally had Pedders bushings in it, I had to replace with stiffer BMR ones when those started failing. The GXP diff is the same as the GT as far as the case. Axles and driveshaft are stock. It has not blown up yet, but I am likely lucky. Best 60 so far is a 1.59.

All I have is BMR LCA's and trailing arms (just added adjustable toe rods), rear subframe bushings, diff bushings; stock diff and axles. I think my best 60' was a 1.56 but there might be a slightly lower one if I looked through all the time slips.

ET streets with Camaro 3:27 with Pedders bushings and GForce 750 HP axles netted me a 1.62 60'. I could do better I think with different tires.

those are some decent 60's.
anyone think a Camaro diff with axles and all that bmr stuff would be good into the high 1.4's? and do it repeatedly?
i guess looking at what the Camaro guys are doing with a stock diff would tell me something.

In my opinion, only if you get a lot of weight out of the car. Few have done 1.4X. The ones that have spent a lot fixing broken parts.

I think it would be better to get the rpms up into the 7k range.

If your going to push a Camaro rear, get the LPW rear cover.

Nothing is unbreakable... just wanted to clarify that...
I have a 9" rear, 3.50 gears and on 17" slicks I got 1.49...... now with more power i cant get anything less than 1.68..... ughhhhh....... only ran about 10 passes... but need to figure out...
I wouldnt do a 9" rear.... so damn heavy compared to a camaro/g8.... just not worth it.... but I am stupid... :)...

what about a zl1 rear diff? sounds like it would bolt in other than the case is so large it would interfere with part of the cradle. I am capable of reworking the cradle to make room for it.
what axles would you use with that? I am guessing it is wider than a normal g8/Camaro rear diff.
is there any evidence as to how strong that unit is?
my goal is to be at the top of the 1/4 mile list.
