- Get the 4 straight black upper door pieces from C.P.
- Get the 2 really long curved gutter piece from GM in North America. You may even want to leave the gutters alone and stick with chrome gutters. Some cars cames from Holden and HSV in Series2 with a mix of black and chome and it looks OK.

Buy the 2 replacement black really long curved gutter trims yourself from GM in USA. You don't want to be transporting them very far because due to their length and fragile nature the shipping is expensive and transit damage is common.

Yes chrome was stock for all G8's
The rubber on the original chrome strips cracks with age.
That's why I sent over 3 new sets of chrome, in case anybody wants to replace cracked rubber and stay with chrome.

I don't think it is possible to save the clips on the window trim (four straight pieces of trim is what I'm referring to). I was trying to save mine when swapping to the black trim, but just couldn't save the clips no matter how much I tried to be gentle with them.

I think i mutilated all the clips on mine when i took them off. I put them back on with 3m tape along the contact points.

I removed mine safely to plastidip, but its a real pia. I rolled the window down and when you get it partially popped up, you have to use something very thin to fold the little clip in. The clips are made so that once they are pushed in, a little tab pops out under the surface of the door, so the only way to fold this tab back in is to do it from inside the door.
It's been a while, but I plan to get a set from Paul in my next order, so ill try to take pics.

I'd really like to try to turn a chrome set into black chrome, but its an expensive test. I may try my originals when the black are installed, then maybe just do my uppers in black chrome if it turns out.

"Chrome" is really brightly polished stainless steel.
Replacement clips are available for the long curved gutter trims but not available for any of the 4 straight upper door pieces.
