Awesome video. You reeled that C6 in like it was Chevette.

What was the box with the tacked on wing that passed you?

Thanks all! It was a great day! Love the Chevette comment; he came around later and was commenting on the white Pontiac G8 that passed him - I then got introduced to him - nice guy. The box with the wing was a BMW E30 M3 dedicated track car with an M5 engine; most importantly, it was driven by a very fast instructor!

Looks like a lot of fun. What speeds do you think you were getting up to?

I had an instructor for the first three sessions of the day; the video was from my solo in session four. My instructor was very safety conscious (no roll cage in my car) and didn't want me to go over 120 on the straights so I generally kept it 120-130. On my solo session, I cranked it up a bit and hit 136 on the back straight per Harry's Lap Timer. The front straight was around 130 and the bridge straight heading into the climbing esses was around 120-125. The car has lots more in it but I'm pretty safety conscious as well and didn't want to transition to over 140 in one session so I just lifted early.

Just had time to watch the video. Very nice Doug, looks like you know the course well, and only over drove a couple of corners. Just a little bit of a push there.

Thanks Ray! Yes, I have driven it several times, but also make my share of mistakes on it still. I know what I'm supposed to do, but the execution is something else entirely! The car does still understeer when I try to turn in with too much speed, plus I only have camber right now on all four corners and no toe at all to keep my street tires from wearing badly (I didn't want to have to pay for two alignments - one for the track and one to set it back).
