I have been using the DashHawk for a few weeks, and think it works as advertised. If you know what you are looking at (I don't), I think it gives you lots of info, and can help you determine the best tune for your car.
If you are using it for gas mileage info, I don't think it will have much benefit. When you are on the gas, it turns red, when you are off the gas, it turns green. Just as you would expect.
I mostly bought it for the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. It seems to work well for this, but my experience is limited.

It ROCKS BUT It's a dead product at the end of its lifecycle... I'd save your money there are betting things coming down the tubes :) And yes this is from the guy who did the Beta work with Edge, the GM params ect.. :)

I'd like to see a matching timeslip with a dashhawk pic before I get one.

They're not right on the money for timed runs but the monitoring of various parameters is priceless.

Exactly its just a tool, how you use it is up to you its not perfect for 1/4 mile runs but if you can repeat it its good for modification evaluation if nothing else.

I am impressed with it now that I know how to log data. It helped confirm the engine knock problem I was having with the VMS tuned ECM, though we think now that the problem is a defective ECM. Having said that, the only reason I bought a DashHawk is to do the case relearn since I didn't want to go to the dealership and try to explain myself.

Defective ECM? Is it setting any codes? Defective E38's are few and far between!

Actually, you can watch porn, but the screen is so small all it shows is stick figures.:p

I use a dashdaq instead. I like the interface better than the dashhawk.

I got lucky and scored mine used off of ebay. $450 used. I am not sure if I would have bought it for full retail though.

Right now mine is priceless because I keep getting the headers code and am still waiting to do a tune. Other than that, I'm at a lose with it myself. I don't really see me using it half as much once the tune clears this code once and for all.

The Edge Insight? I am kind of pissed because they made a point that it will not support 64 bit, and the DashDaq is more expensive than I thought.
