I was looking to remove my backseats fulltime and put some carpet in the place of the seats. I was wondering if anyone knows of where I can get more carpet that I can get that will match the carpet that is in the car?
Thanks
Jon
Here is a pic that shows where I want to add the new carpet

I'm not sure, but I think you'll need to cover the hole with sheet metal if you are going to race the car that way. Except in Fayetteville.
Go to any quality upholstery shop and ask them. I'm sure you will get a answer there.

Thanks Ray. The track that I go to really doesn't check the car out.. especially on Test and Tune days. Has anyone replaced the whole carpet with some nice light weight carpeting?

Why do you even need carpet? If you're going for all out weight reduction, toss it all!
I always bought cheap carpet at Wal~Mart years ago when I was covering sub boxes, but it was just that. CHEAP, like everything at Wal~Mart.
Ray's dead on. Either buy some online or go to your local upholsterer and get some. They'll have QUALITY stuff.

Ya I agree with you. I just don't want to gut it and have it look trashy, you know. Then I was thinking if I put carpet back in, then Im putting the weight back in that I just took out lol. I will do as you guys say.. Just want something thin, weightless, but still looks decent

The cheap crap from Wal~Mart looks OK, and weighs next to nothing...

PD is great because it's removeable if you want, PLUS it actually is kind of dynomat like in that it will reduce some noise. ;)
You'll need a minimum of 3 coats though.

Why? Just take them out when going to the track. Not like it's going to make much of a difference....

Does anyone have pics of what they did to cover the cubby hole?

The rear seat bottom is very light and won't make much difference. The back is a little heavy. Dropping 50 pounds definitely helps if you are trying to get all you can.
