Looking to help someone out with some info relating to what is required to replace a L76 with a Ls3?...
Does the engine harness have to be changed out?
Tune and programming? What needs to be done?... BCM, ECM?
Other modifications required?...
Thanks for any help!!!!

You might have to use the stock TB if the G8 isn't a 2009.5
other than that it should just be some tuning needed.

There may be two places for the oil dip stick. One in the back will need to be blocked if it was drilled out.

The new LS3 would come with the 2009.5 oil pan w/o the dipstick hole in the pan so there will not be two holes.

Yeah, for some reason I was thinking short block.

Well if that was the case there might be an issue there :)
I think in complete engines and long blocks lol

Why an LS3 and not a stroker? That's a lot of work for just a little more displacement

Yes, the throttle body has to be swapped from the L76 to the LS3. The E38 operating system for the L76 was designed to work with the older "silver blade" throttle body, while the crate motor needs a newer E38 OS designed to work with the newer "brass blade" throttle body. Both throttle bodies are the same size so no issues there. If you have a 2009.5 you should be OK with the new throttle body.

the oil pressure sensor needs swapped right? Not sure. I think its a different plug.
Greg would know. I swapped mine when I did the harness think it was BC of the plug.
Edit. I had a brain fart.

I have a set of Kooks headers on my recently deceased L76. I assume they would swap over to an LS3. Does anyone know if they would interfere with the new dipstick location?

Yes, headers will swap over.
If anything interferes then you just use your original oilpan, pickup tube, dipstick etc.
