It was my very first time at the track with my G8 and I am pretty happy with the results.

It was a last minute decision to head down to the track and I was rushed getting out of the house. I ended up driving about an hour and fifteen minutes to get there and miscalculated my fuel. As a result, I had a half tank remaining, but I wanted to be on vapors. J It was her maiden pass anyways, so no biggie. To make things even better, when I got there I realized that when I left home in such a hurry, I forgot to take my sub out. I estimate that I ended up running the G8 about 100 lbs heavier than I could have between the sub and fuel, but I will be ready for the next track day.

Much to my surprise, the OEM Bridgestone RE050s did well. I was able to pull off a 1.8 and 1.9 sixty foot by simply rolling out and hitting it. Please disregard my first slips reaction time. I was asleep

What did suck, was the fact that torque management is either much stronger than I thought or I am bouncing off the rev limiter. I am leaning towards the TQ management, but either way, it felt as if I was engine breaking for a split second between each gear. Now I realize that the car may have been accelerating so strongly that when TQ management kicked in, the lack of acceleration may have simply just felt like it was slowing for a second, but I do know that I need to get it fixed. I felt like I was losing an extreme amount of momentum between each shift. I feel that I have a few tenths and a couple of MPHs tied up in the 3 shifts (I finish in 4th) as a result of the TQ management/rev limiter, whichever it turns out to be.

By the next track day, I plan on running her minus the sub and extra gas and with the reduced TQ management. I had a VMS tune with the 50/20 TQ management on the TCM, but when I put the supercharger on, I had to pull the VMS tune (they lock theirs) in order to let my local tuner tune it with HPTuners. After talking with Kirk @ VMS, I now know that I can do their TCM flash without the ECM. Even with the supercharger, I have noticed that an untuned TCM can spoil the overall satisfaction with the car.

I had a great time and hopefully by next week, I will be nicely into the 11s!

Thanks guys. Like I said, I was really surprised that the OEM tires could cut 1.8s. It must have been a good day as far as track prep, my lucky driving, and my steady 36 lbs of pressure in the front and rears :)

Looks like 50 degrees. 33 ft. elevation though.

damn you could lower that tire pressure and probably 60' a little better, sub 30psi would be best. And I'm assuming with a TCM reflash you may even cut a 11.9x pass.

Wow, I want to see what it'll do in 75 degrees at about 600 ft above sealevel :D
