I would like to possibly have some trim pieces chromed...like the kidneys are. Does anyone know who or where I could get this done? Has anyone had this done?

Plastic can be chromed. I used a spray called Alclad. Looks good but I should have sprayed a clear coat over it. They use it in building model cars. I was told there is a place where you can send model parts to be done. A guy I work with does models I will try to find out for you.

You can also find an automotive plater. Chrome needs a nickle substrate to adhere to. Plastic first gets plated with nickel then chrome adheres to the nickle.

I didn't realize that plastic could be chromed...thought it was a different process to look like chrome. All I care about is that it "looks" like chrome, matches the trim on the kidneys. I will try another chrome plater and see what they say or direction they point me in. Thx

The grille surrounds are plastic. Mine were chrome when I bought the car.
