Hopefully it isn't a train. My dealer called this afternoon and told me that my GXP was on a truck and scheduled to be delivered Monday or Tuesday!! This is the most definitive info that they have given me to date. I won't believe it until I see it.

My daughter is climbing all over me as I'm typing this and she loves the Crazy Paul emotcon so I put it on here for her. It actually is appropriate for me waiting on this dang GXP.

I got a call as well this past week saying they were unloading one. No details, though. You put down money on a Maverick Silver Metallic, right? Any idea if this is it?

I am preparing a sacrifice to ensure the GXP gets there soon. Tomorrow I will go out and do something evil & nasty to the old Penguinmobile hulk sitting forlornly in front of the house. I gotta think about this......:p

Brandon, make sure you check under the front fascia....This cars are low enough to catch on the hauler when they load and unload.....Not as bad as the Chargers and Shelbys.....Just something to look for from a former carhauler. :)

Make sure they do there prep work too. You'll prolly have to clay bar the car to get the crap off that silver paint.

I have never clay barred a car before. How hard is it?

Not hard at all. Buy a Adams or Mothers clay bar kit. Tear the bar in half. If you drop it, throw it way. Now you know why you tore it in half.
Take and kneed the clay bar so it fits your palm. Use detail spray and wet a small section of the paint. Run that section with the clay bar. You'll hear little clicks as it's going over embedded crap in the paint. If you don't hear or feel anything, stop rubbing. Avoid rubbing the paint if it's dry. Add more detail spray if necessary.
Wipe off the detail spray with your micro fiber towel.
Now you ready to polish and wax.

I'M HOME!!

I got about 25 minutes from the dealership and they called and said, "Oh shit! We put your tag on the wrong car!". Needless to say I had to turn around and go back and get the tag. They met me halfway though so it wasn't too bad. I got to drive more!

Now, on to the initial review. I know it's been said and I've read it but the clutch pedal is VERY light. You really have a hard time "feeling" the engage. I'll get used to it eventually. I can see how this car would be very hard to launch without lighting the tires up. All and all I'm very pleased with the car. I love rowing the gears. I think I'm getting old because I think the stereo sound pretty damn good. I didn't have time to figure out much of the radio controls since it was after dark when I finally got through with the paperwork. You can really tell that the gearing in this car is lower. In the F-bodies that I've had in the past 6th gear was pretty much just a highway gear. With the gearing in the GXP you can actually use 6th in town. In just about any gear this car feels ready to go. The car rides a little stiffer than I was expecting. Not out of control by any means. It is a little stiffer than the GT. The exhaust sounds pretty good when you are on the gas. Could be a hair louder but not much.

Let me stress how bad GM screwed up by putting such a narrow tire on a car with this gearing and power. I can light the tires up at will in first or second gear. I did one burnout just playing around and lit them up in first and granny shifted into second and proceeded to light them up again. I was feathering the car in second gear and it was struggling for traction.

Now on to the ride home. I can't believe it but I got a quick little race with a mid 90's Mustang. I pulled off the highway to get something to eat real quick since I hadn't eaten much all day. As I was leaving I see a Mustang pulling out of a parking lot. Well I leave it in second gear and jump at him. I didn't think he was going to bite so I got back on the highway and began the final part of my cruise home. Well, much to my surprise, I see a Mustang slowly creeping up behind me. When he gets up beside me I drop it down in third, going about 75 mph, and jump at him. He took the bait and nailed it. It was a short race, from around 75 up to 110 or so. In that time amount of time I stopped his pull and put my back bumper past his front bumper. Not bad for only a few seconds burst.

I have to say, I'm happy as shit to finally get this car. I can't wait to mod it some. Since traction is ALREADY an issue I'll be struggling with future mods.

Here are two crappy cell phone pictures. More quality pictures and videos to come in the future.

I cannot get a race anywhere, I think all sports cars have left our area in fear.

Anyway, really glad you finally go it. I know you will enjoy it.

I will probably do the skip shift this weekend.

I couldn't believe the Mustang took the bait last night. It's so bad for me that I was pestering an early 90's Mazda 626 because he took off quick at a light...LOL!

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed in the size of the rear tires as well. They need to be at least 275's, maybe wider. I wonder if wider tires could be fitted to the car with the right rims...

Anyway, congrats, man! Enjoy!
