So finally got the parts in last night.

Oem rails with Yakima frontloader. No tools need, no adapters needed.

The oem rack locks onto the roof of the car and Yakima has two locks, one to lock it to the rails and second to lock the bike to the rack. Overall like the way it turned out.

Before I start getting the, how dare u put a rack on your car, your car must have cried last night (comments I read in other roof rack threads). To each his own.

I bike every weekend and I like the rack. I actually think the g8 looks good with the rack. I even had one on my m3 a few years back.

Here's a few pics guys.

Looks good. New wheels and brakes didn't hurt, either.

Thanks man. Its awesome that the G8 already has the holes in place for the roof rack. Gives it a super clean look.

Definitely love the cts-v wheels and cts-v brake upgrade. I really need to do a build thread soon. lol

OEM rails look good. I remember seeing these available some years ago. I might get these. G8 would look good with snow skis on roof-rack making a quick run to W. Va. for late season skiing now that I have all-season tires. Do these seem to be easily removable for occasional use? Thanks.

Very easy to remove. No tools required. All four corners have a lock on them as well so don't have to worry about anyone yanking them off. I would say it'll take about 10 mins max to remove the bike rack and the rails. Very easy removal.

^ I was just about to ask that too, I was thinking of getting a bike rack but I don't want to keep it on, put it on when needed then off it would go. I don't think I'm strong enough to lift a bike onto my roof without touching paint tho lol

Here are my OEM roof racks. Were kinda a pain to get in the slots, but a little motivation from a screwdriver helped. Soon to be carrying a kayak & or mountain bike :)
