** no longer for sale **
Fellow G8 community members,
It is with a heavy heart that I even type out this post. This has been a great project and a great car, but family circumstances lead me to seek another owner for my car. I want to send a big thanks to the community for following me through the process of performing the conversion, and I am truly honored that several others have chosen to follow in my footsteps. But the only constant is change, hence this post. Car really does great even with the stock 2.92 diff. I get about 19.5mpg driving to/from work in mixed traffic but the car still has plenty of power when you want to romp on it. 6th gear isn't usable below 65, but the DIC said I was getting over 30 mpg on the highway at 70 on a trip from the Springs toward Denver. Without further delay, on to the details:
08 G8 GT
White with black/red leather interior
MoonRoof
Every Factory Option
Excellent Condition
Breyton GTS Wheels Silver 19x8.5"front 19X9.5" Rear (8.5/10, some curb rashes from previous owner)
Khomo Ecsta Ultra Summer Tires
Comp Cam XFI 224/230
DOD Delete
American Racing Headers Catless LongTubes and Mid Pipes
Magnacharger intercooled TVS2300 -- 3000miles on Supercharger when I bought the car with ~43k miles on it
ZR1 LS9 Head gaskets with ARP bolts
KB Boost A Pump
DBA 4000 Series Brakes w/ Hawk Ceramics - 3000 miles on Brakes
HID headlamps and matching fog lights
Line Lock Kit
CAI
Wideband O2 sensor (wiring is installed but not remainder of system)
MGW short shifter kit from a Camaro (will install the stock GXP shifter if the prospective owner wishes. The MGW takes some additional finesse.)
Tick Performance clutch speed bleeder
Exterior I would rate as a solid 8.5/10. Paint is in good shape, but the front bumper cover has a crack from the previous owner (didn't know that when I went to pick it up), and the garage at the AF Academy auto shop took a nice little gouge out of the driver side of the bumper . The rear bumper also has a scrape in it from when the wife opened the wrong garage door and scratched the bumper. The interior is in great shape and will come with the stock floor mats as well as the all-season Holden rubber mats straight from CP.
Will sell the car and all stock and spare parts for $29k. Car only is $27.5k. Car was tuned by PatG (autocal will be included with sale) but I was planning on taking it to get a local dyno tune by Under Pressure Performance sometime soon.
Here is the list of stock parts available:
- stock intake, headers, cam, DoD parts
- 6L80E trans: needs to be rebuilt - have all of the OEM parts from Pace Performance to rebuild it using stock clutch/steels +1, manuals, and tools required. Also spent $900 to upgrade to Century's 300m billet intermediate shaft and reinforced clutch hub kits
- 18" Elbrus rims w/ Blizzak tires
- Stock G8 torque converter
- Stock automatic parts: driveshaft, shifter, engine wiring harness, other sundry bits
- probably other small stuff
Feel free to send me PMs for questions about the car. This truly sucks, but I think it is the best for my family. It's only a car, and I've already proven I can just get another one later :)

Helped with some exhaust work on this car and it looks great. S/B a blast to drive!
Dibs on maggie, stock intake manifold, or ARH and xpipe if you decide to de-mod. :)
Let me know if you go to UPP this wknd, I'll meet you there.

Forgot I have pinewood derby on Saturday so it might not be this weekend. Was going to head up on wed but I need to talk to the owner and discuss the level of effort. I think he's under the impression that he's starting from scratch instead of just tweaking the PatG tune.
I'll keep that in mind if I do decide to demod.

At least the intake manifold, then I can send it to Crawford for porting while still driving mine.
I think Saturday is supposed to be crappy anyways, maybe we can get some people together on Sunday for one last drive.

I'd drive down to see the manual before it goes... Sad sad sad!

Think we could do something on Sunday. Going to pueblo for that drag racing class today. It's cheap and I'm hoping I'll get a couple of passes with minimal observers

Call me about the intake. I don't currently have a purpose for it.

No track today as a jet car oiled down the track right as I was pulling up :(
However, not all is lost. I had a good trip and took the following pics to show how economical this car can be. 95 miles were mixed driving the rest was all highway.

Hate to see you sell it, but it sounds like you're doing the right thing. I'd also add a nice photo showing off the manual. The interior shot shows it being an auto still...This will make someone a sweet ass G8.

Sunday sounds like it could be a go, 60 and sunny. Maybe meet in Castle Rock? Or in some mountain town in-between Denver/COS? Or in some flat town out east.
I'm good to go either way, either spot.

Good point on the pics. I did reuse some old ones. I'll get them tomorrow. It's dark now :)
Dmarple put something in the local section so we don't keep reminding people how great it would be to own this car ;)

I didn't think you could use the same shift center section as the automatics. I always though if you did the manual swap you had to buy the GXP manual center section for the shifter to work.

03-07-2014, 08:19 AM
I dont think its the auto section..it looks a little to round.
Matt G8 dude
03-07-2014, 08:27 AM
I just assumed it was the automatic piece since it had the silver ring. I believe the M6 GXP's don't have the silver ring.

It's the same center section, just the underside that's different.

All stock and spare parts now included. Willing to discuss how much you pay for the car vs. the parts to help with sales tax purposes.

Did I miss it or am I blind? Is there a price as the car sits with all the aftermarket parts still on the car? I am selling my GTO(guy has loan, picking it up April 3rd)and have owned a G8 before (V6) and want a GXP, but this might be the perfect alternative, please feel free to email me at bourquein.usmc@gmail.com or kenneth.bourquein@usmc.mil(use this during business hours)as this is the first time I've been on this board in years and may forget to check back for a reply... Thanks!
I read your post wrong, I thought you were selling it in stock form for 30k, sorry about that, please still email me with some more details, and pictures of the damage on the bumpers please!

Round trip from C Springs to Loveland and back: 270 miles, 1/2 tank at 29 mpg. :D
First week of spring price drop. Now $29k for the package but that's as low as I'm going to go for a while.

When the g8 first came out there were plenty of people that wanted it in a manual. It's just a matter of you finding the right buyer at this point... and as far as the money goes it just depends on what it's worth to you to sell it.

04-14-2014, 06:51 PM
Pull the maggie!!! I'll help.
J/k but if you work a deal with someone who wants the car with out it. Or sell the maggie off of it. I'll be more then willing to help you out.
Posidon42
04-14-2014, 07:40 PM
It might come to that. But I hope it doesn't cause that's a lot more work and retuning :(
And I would need to change the rear end to make it not feel slow.

04-14-2014, 10:46 PM
Yeah I hear ya there.
Its most definitely a nice car and I'm sure its a blast to drive the way it sits.
Honestly I'm supprised it hasn't sold. But I guess most members already have a g8.
Might need to start with other listings online. Maybe ls1 forum or something lime that first.
Posidon42
04-15-2014, 04:13 PM
Did that last week :) And camaro5, and some others. Some questions, but no leads. Oh well, the longer it sits the more I get to enjoy it.

I was in the right lane. Driver mod needed, I know. But this was with a 8000' DA, street tires, and my first time at a drag strip. So think this is pretty good overall.

Nah. Wife says the car is on mod limits until we get some other stuff paid off. I am going to fix some maintenance issues though. Looks like I might be coming to a few more meets afterall :)

Looking forward to more meets. Big show coming up on Sunday May 4th in Westminster. I would like to get as many as possible to come. Let me know if you would like a hand with any "maintenance" work!
