Greg,

I've got to take my G8 in to fix my abs fault light issue, and while it's in I'm going to have some suspension work done--new control arms, fe3 shocks, etc.

The FE3 kit only comes with the struts and shock absorbers, correct? If I need bushings too I need to get those separately? I figure while I have it all apart I need to replace the bushings too. Just wanted to clarify before I place my order. Thanks.

Edit: Can you let me know part number and price on the stock bushings? Not sure if I'll go with those or the whitelines. Also, for the window reveal molding chrome strip with the rubber along it the left side parts are for the driver's side, correct? Mine are rotted, but just on that side.

Correct. The kit only includes struts and shocks.

Yes you will need to either source OEM or aftermarket bushings/mounts and bearings for the front.
The GM front strut mounts run $41.09 ea and includes the bearing. - 92258191

The chrome strips are around $64.00 ea

Not to take business away from Greg, but go with BMR, Whiteline, or SuperPro upper bushings. DO NOT go with stock.

Hey I didn't want to say it :) I'm not running the stock ones ;)

I was just curious about the price difference, mainly. I've seen enough of the threads over the years to know to stay away from the stock bushings. The whitelines are in my cart at maryland speed.

Greg,

Do the fe3 struts come as a complete ready to swap in unit, or do i need to swap springs and boots from my old struts?

Thks

David

You need the springs and boots from your current setup.

As well as upper bushings and bearings for the front. Go with Whiteline, BMR, or SuperPro for the bushings/bearings.

Thanks guys....already got Whiteline every where up front. Need to save up and get some for the back so I can install struts and shocks and bushings all at the same time.
