Hey folks.
This afternoon the driver side rear window went down, but on its way up all hell broke loose. Well, the cable broke loose. The regulator made quite a series of crunching noises followed by what sounded like the clatter of small parts. I released the button at the first sound of trouble.
FF to this evening and the disassembly. Evidently the plastic retainer that makes up much of the mount had let go. Gee, another harebrained design...As I looked at what's left, I realized that I could probably weld a tab in place of the plastic chingadera that grenaded and save about $200. I need to find a regulator image somewhere, as there's no way in hell I'm taking one of the other doors apart. I want to make sure that the buffer spring on the cable end doesn't bind during operation.
Has anyone else had this happen? I can post pics if it'll help the next guy/gal.
