I'm sure you would need to build your transmission if you haven't already. Can't see what mods you have on tapatalk. Either way looking forward to your build. Would love to have a g8 with a 427.

Stupid double post.

I would love to get a 427 in mine. Would the headers have to be changed? Like if you had kooks or ARH headers for the 6.0 or 6.2, would they bolt up to the 427?

Good luck on the build!

Headers and everything all bolts up the same..... thats the beauty of this engine....

Awsome! Now I can buy an exhaust and still use it if I ever swap engines.

You really need the heads and intake to take advantage of the LS7. That's why I went with the Livernois LS3 stroker.

I went with a ls3 427 from Thompson motorsports and I was not prepared for a engine swap when my 6.0 went out so I am trying to just get the g8 back on the road as cheaply as possible while still getting a 427 lol

Weren't you the guy that can only get goatspiss fuel at one of your locations?
Sure hope you told the engine supplier about it.
It will need good quality fuel and plenty of it if you expect the above numbers for any longer than the first 13 minutes of it's lifespan.

I'd really be interested in the bore and stroke numbers. Did they resleeve the block?

I would recommend trans, axles, and diff. With a good trans tune the stock trans will live for a while, particularly at the lower end of your power estimate but unless your trans tuner is a god it'll start slipping before too long.

You're getting a great engine, that's for sure. Since it's a short block, you can get it on an engine stand and see the piston skirt as it pulls out of the sleeve.
I haven't found too many 4.125" strokes on an LS3 block. i'd prefer the larger bore with a re-sleeve. it was more money than I wanted to spend.
care to divulge the price of the short block?

Nice!!!
Good call with the m6.
You happen to have two of the swapped cars in town.
Also the only g8 twin turbo kit sold in the states is made here. :)
And there is any fuel you want ready and available in the springs.
I'd say your set.
I'd love to see the car when its back in town.

Update got down to the shop and had some fitment issues on our way to get parts it starts to rain ..... I forgot say we are in my friends 1300 hp vette . So it starts to rain we are on The highway in Vegas that floods easily be cause they don't know how to build roads out there. We slow down to 50 than 40, finally only a mile to go till our exit and bam car hits what felt like a lake and we go spinning into the wall. Thankfully the whole front end of the car was not damaged in the crash so it didn't mess up any of the expensive goodies under the hood. When we finally got home my truck was towed ... Long story short my g8 will be getting pushed to the back burner for a bit will let every one know any more updates

Damn that blows.
Isn't Vegas in the bottom of a bowl? And its the lowest point around?
I seen a show that talked about all the huge under ground drain tunnels and if it get to high they have to pump it out down some crazy long pipe to get it lower then the city?
Can't remember. But I know you cant make good drainage is a place like that.

AlaskaGT
07-11-2014, 07:02 PM
yeah basically it was only raining for a few minutes and the street flooded lol we were only a mile from our exit ...I still wanted to work on my car but my friend was in no mental shape to do that

over all I am ecstatic with how the build came out it is at a shop in las Vegas so I am limited on the info that I received on how it is currently running I have a few idle vids but don't know how to up load to the site I will say that if you are planning to do a swap just make sure u are ready to spend the cash... that's the reason I haven't drove the car for two years
