Very common for these window moldings to get chewed up by baking in the hot sun.
Does anyone have a used set of 4 chrome moldings that we could use to get them reproduced.
Currently, you'd have to go to GM and get a set for a few hundred bucks. We're trying to get the cost to around $100 for the entire kit!

Which ones? The ones at the bottom of every window? Can I have them or a set of new ones back?
Just FYI, when you remove these it's necessary to cut the rear clips that hold them on.

Yes if you can provide us with a good quality used set, we will give you a free reproduction set. The originals you couldn't get back though.
We'll need to repro #8 in the picture as well then. That the clip?

If you end up reproducing a set in black, I'll take them.

OK, I have a full set of those, but like I said, when I pulled them off (done two cars now) I had to cut them because the one tang pulls up through the wrong side and you can't get it back down and out the hole without taking the window out.
If #14 is available new, I'd buy one. I can't help you with that.

Do you have pictures at all of where you cut it?
We will probably do a small amount in black. I know blacking out the chrome on these cars is quite the thing!
Just got the OE ones from Greg then I plan to 3M matte black wrap w/ the other chrome on my car. Same thing happened to the two side windshield moldings.

Yea the windshield moldings have the same problem but they are dirt cheap from GM still.

+2 for the black kit! I know my chrome ones are getting pretty chewed up from the sun. Previous owner didn't take care of the car properly and I've been trying to save some of the rubber pieces on the car. These are probably the worse looking ones out of them all.
I know R&D does take some time but any ETA on how long this would take? If the fit and finish is well done then count me in for a black set for sure.

Once we get a good sample, ETA we'll shoot for is Summer/Fall for production.
We need a good sample set first!! :)

Yea sorry. They would have to be new or somehow with the clips because we need to make them with the clips.

I'll be in for a chrome set in the next year or two probably.

I don't see why you don't buy a new set then. You'll make up the money pretty quickly when you start selling them and then you don't have to worry about them not being 100% accurate.

We will probably just go that route. What are people willing to pay for a new set in chrome or black?

100$ would be a good price if you guys can make money at that level.

We will shoot for around that $100-$125 area since that is what most reproduction window felts kits are with the older cars. We'll see what we can do.

Imo 125 would still be decent. 150 starts pushing it though. But that is just my opinion.

Would be nice if you offered the long upper door trim piece as well in black to make a complete set.
