So my extensive research and pickyness for wanting the best tire has narrowed me down to 3 brands;

I seen that Advan Sport is the OEM tires for Porsche GT4 and the Bentley Continental GT. Also the Pilot Sport PS2 is the stock tire for the ZR1. Does that mean anything? Who knows, I just figure if it's good enough for the ZR1 then it's good enough for a G8 GT, lol.

.....Anyway, I would like to know if anyone has had any personal experience with any of these exact models of tires and/or would point me in the direction of 1 over the other.

Thanks!

I'd also like to know the above, plus Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season and Nitto 555's

The guy at the tire store was trying to get me to buy the NITTO INVO stating they were sticky as hell......but i needed something a little more H2o friendly

From what I've read and heard about the Nitto INVO's, they are very sticky in dry and wet, not snow so much. I also had my eye on Michelin PS A/S's and Bridgestone 960 A/S's but I think I'm going to try the Nitto INVO's (recommended by Andy @ Livernois). But I'm waiting to hear from anyone who actually has them on their car to get some first hand feedback. Anyone care to step up to the plate here?

I have a pair of INVO 245-45ZR/18s mounted on stock rims. They are the same diameter as the stock 18" tires. BUT I just haven't had the time or energy to put them on the car. Hopefully sometime this week. Andy recommended them to me. The local tire shop matched the internet price of $176 per tire.

I had the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on my old GP in 245/45/18 size. Great tires, awesome wet traction, acceptable snow/cold traction. ZR rating and treadwear of 400AA-440AA. They lasted quite a while, but when I bought them they were $256/tire at DiscountTire. I think they're more than that now, they're REALLY expensive..

Road noise was also acceptable.

I ran the advan on my 240 with about 400hp they where good... for all around I like the S03's better. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+S-03+Pole+Position

I had a set of S03's on my Se-r before I sold it and while they were sticky as hell in wet and dry, the tread life on them was terrible!! I bought the car new and by about 10,000 miles I had to start the look for a new set of tires!!

IMO a tire that lasts a long time does not ususally hook up that well... soft rubber usually grips the road much better.

They are on the factory vehicles because they either make a deal with the maufacturer or because the manufacturer goes to them with an existing problem (thats how the Potenza Re050A came in to being vs a normal Re050, GM wanted better handling on the original GXP GP's). I have the INVO on my car and it is by far the best tire I've owned on a daily driver. Although the Treadwear is higher than the Potenza's, the INVO does everything better. I've had the Advan's before and was not inpressed. Cannot say I've tried this particular Michelin, but I've never thought much of the Michelin I have had. I've always believed they were way overrated for their price and performance.

Thank you, I've just made my decision, INVO's :)

Pretty sure at this point I'm going to order 275x40x18 and 245x45x18 Nitto INVO's on TSW wheels. I'll be doing this in about 2 weeks and I'll post some feedback after the install for any that are interested.

I only run Kumhos in the summer. Super soft and sticky and their tread life was fantastic. I had them on my 02 Mustang GT, my 02 Durango R/T (all season) and most recently my 02 Acura TL Type S before I sold it to buy the G8. I swear by Kumhos. Best tire for your money. Read all the reviews from customers on Tire Rack. You can't beat the performance for the price... kinda like the G8!

Kuhmos are good... for the price. But that's almost like saying "The S2000 is fast... for a Honda" ahaha Sorry, had to do it. Hope you are happy with whichever tires you decide on. Good Luck

If you don't live in Seattle, use whatever. The 4 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 19" came to about $1600 OTD, with roadhazard warranty. D-Tire has already replaced 2 due to explosive decompression upon contact with large metal & cement objects.

The only tire I'm comfortable with in this climate, plus ZR, 400 traction, 400 wear, etc. You cannot break them loose in wet weather. Always gotten 35-40K and I buy new tires way early. :p

This is why I loved my Michelins. They were the best all around tire I've ever used.. If I have the scratch to spare once these stockers wear out, that's what I'm going back to.

I can tell you really like 'em. So how much noise do they generate at different speeds? How's the noise after 30K miles or so? I need some good feedback as the Michelin's are the only other tire I'm really considering besides the Nitto INVO's. Thanks.

I am happy with my Nitto Invo. I have them on my summer wheels. (Front 255/35/20, Rear 285/30/20)They grip well in wet and dry as long as it isnt cold. Have about 5000 miles on them last summer. One reason I chose them was I have a staggered setup and they can be rotated side to side.

Do they hook up from a standing start a lot better than the stock tires ??

Looks like you have 20" wheels & tires, so how is the noise level?

Are the INVO's a non-directional?? I checked out their site but it didn't mention anything about it.

Yes they are non directional. They can be rotated side to side which is great on staggered setups.

A good cheap tire that compares to the P/S is the new Sumitomo HTRZ III, i've put several sets on GTO's and Mustangs and everyone loves them. Did I mention they are cheap?

Yup, got'm@DiscountTire, but Goodyear (or similar) can order them. 245/40/19's.

They make a W and Y version, 260 vs 220 TW
