How desperate is G8 boards?

I find their tactics of late very humerous. They are so stuck on chasing me around for sending invites that their site is failing. To help them out I thought I would post that I have over 25 User names and multipe IPs. Stop chasing and save what use to be a great site. Oh, I just sent 7 invites before this post too! LMAO!!

To prove a point, I had a friend sign up as "try harder" and he never made 1 post and was banned for spam. WTF? That could have been anyone. Great job to the ADMIN on that one.

Do they really chase you around (via the internet) because you send invites? I don't understand what the big deal is. I surf both sites and love them both. Oh well, it's a free market and if it's going to get all Highlander up in here then the best one will stand the test of time. :playnice:

There is nothing they can do. The funny thing is half their members come from LS1.com. I just suppose none of them got invites.

The funny thing is I thrive on competition and when someone thinks they have the upper hand. Steve and I own this, they are puppets. Big difference. They spend their free time chasing me. I should feel special.

I joined there site before this one. I tried to post a WTB add and in there rules to post it said there was a minumin amount of posts I had to make before I would be allowed to post anything. What a waste of time, mine and theirs.

It has gotten so bad in the past 6 months on that site. All the ads that nobody cares about. The jumbled up adds at the top that have 2-3 vendors sharing the space of what they use to pay for that space when it was a single ad. Its OK to have vendors and lots of them, but give them their space. Its like ADVO on there now. A whole bunch of shit that ends up in the trash in most cases.

A dozen posts were deleted there tonight that had GRRRR8 in them, but not a link to the site. I am all about the info, thats why I am here. This dumbshit that has been going on I havent said a word about. The smart ass comment they sent me brought this on. Its fine, no more invites. I will CALL the vendors and invite them here. With the economy being what it is, I think its only fair to do my part and help as many businesses as I can.

The funny thing is there is a ton of links to their site and I dont have an issue. I/this site is not in competition with them. They have a year and half plus head start on this site. A lot more managing on their part would go a long ways to fixing the issues they created, not me.

Plus, this site is about more than whining about the stock stereo, the idle vibe from a V8 and the hundreds of repeat threads because "search" is never used. I mainly stick to this site. More "real" technical content.

I left that site as soon as i got the invite for here. Obviously Charlie and Steve are doing something right. Look at the member growth! Truth is this board has so much more knowledge and experience then the other board. Knowledge + Better Staff + Kick ASS vendors = FTFW!!

Gotta agree with you guys, that site is basically a money maker, they don't give a shit about anything but the cold buck. No matter if the info is good or not, if it isn't from/sold by/approved by one of the sponsors....you'll get canned for posting about it....

I used to have a 100 capacity PM box there. They didn't like me selling things by PM (there was only 1 product back then), so I stopped and deleted all my posts, info and pictures.
Last week I checked and my PM box there was maxed out....WTF......the capacity had been reduced to 20. Whilst not having received any PM's mind you.
I just checked now and the PM capacity is 10.

you TROLL G8Boards. As a forum owner I'm sure you can understand the business behind a site like this. Let's turn this into a non-internet example, since the Internet often makes us think that otherwise ridiculous business practices are somehow acceptable.

What if you owned a performance garage. Now let's say that across town there is a competing performance garage. What would you expect to happen if every day you put on a new disguise and stood outside their door handing out brochures for your garage?

What you do is EXACTLY? the same thing. It's despicable and it makes you a troll. Nothing more than a troll. You wanna pick up new members so your vendors will pay you more and you can buy some new shit for your car? Advertise like a normal business. :nud:

Thats the problem with the other board, it is run like a business. Your not allowed to have an opinion besides the one they feed you through their vendors. If I wanted to tell people about a kick ass deal I found on parts not sold through their vendors my thread would be deleted. Here everyone would thank me....including Charlie....doesnt sound like a business here to me at all. Sounds more like a bunch of friends hanging out in a garage drinking beers and helping one another out....Cheers!!!

I agree 100 percent and the fact is most of the vendors on both sites are resellers not manufacturers so if there is a product with a ton of hype and no one has it... well its nothing more than a product they should be reselling! And for the manufacturers competition is always a good thing (for both manufacturer and end user)!

IMHO, if this board wants to be considered the superior G8 board on the Internet, it should have less of these kinds of threads and, instead, should focus more on G8 content (which ultimately is what will drive people to the site).

The G8 community is too small as it is (less than 17,000 G8 owners total), so the less squabbling, the better.
