So I have been thinking about striping my G8 for a long time now and after seeing the 40th anniversary Holden GTS picture Crazy Paul posted I had an idea for my G8.. spent 5 or 10 mins and took a members photo (awsome looking car btw!) and put my own twist on it.

This is pretty much how I want my car to look and I am looking at getting the same black Breyton's

Tell me what ya think, I also plan to add a little GT emblem somewhere in the strips at the bottom of the doors aswell as the racing strips on the hood.

I like it all except the stripes on the hood. They just look forced to me with no "flow" to them. Someone's gotta come up with a better stripe for the hood.

It's A G8!

Not my cup of tea. But it's your car.

I would make it faster, then worry about stripes...heh heh.

Breaks the white up nicely, specially the side stripes. My wife, who can't stand white even liked it.

Thats what is nice about white. Endless possibilities for custom work.

I think you're onto something, sides look good.
FWIW the hood and rear dont do anything for me in the above photoshopped form.

I like the look of the stripes hood and sides. You might want to extend the stripe on the side to include the rear bumper similar to HSV-GTS pics. Nice car HSV-GTS. I have been tempted to do matte black on my MGM and the best part is they are removable if you get tired of them. Thats if you do them in vinyl.

One or the other, Choose Now! ROFL

Either the stripes on the top or side. I don't care for both, too much.

I'd personally go with the full stripes like this one

But I'd have them painted on in a custom color, Stealth/Stryker Blue stripes on that White Hot car would look awesome IMO.

I like it. The stripes compliment nicely.

I tend to agree with SRG963 on this one. Stripes on the sides or on top. I think I like the full stripes on top.

Ya this is just a total brainstorm, I am not 100% on the stripes on the hood I personally think it is over the top and it starts to look a bit tacky. I think I am going to do the strips on the bottom of the doors and when he does it I am going to get it done all the way to the rear wheel and then if I don't like it after a couple days I will shorten it like it is in the picture.

As for making it faster, don't worry by the end of the summer I plan to have a Vararam, VMS tune, ARH headers and maybe a couple other little things.:prostock:

This is my first new car and I am 19 and buying it myself so I don't want to stretch how much I can afford to the max. Little appearance things like this are cheap! and make the car unique.

Glad to hear some positive things on it though, I just don't want to make it look "ricey" I will post some pictures in the next week or so of the actual car done since that will do it a bit more justice
