Called B&M today about the dipstick they just announced for the camaro ss 6l80. They were not willing to confirm that it would read correctly for our trans (although I would assume it would), however he did state that they would be releasing the an updated press release shortly after the first of the year. They've had some application questions spring up and are working through those details. Most places list shipping availability after the first of the year, although it is currently available on their website... (B&Ms)

Hope this helps anyone searching for this solution. Product looks damn good...

I had seen this a while ago and was wondering if this like the Lokar dipstick would work for us.

My fear would be it leaking. I had heard some guys with the Lokar had issues with moisture getting into the trans. That may just be a rumor though.

Never heard about that with the Lokar, but the Radical Advantage one had issues with this.

X2. Yes Chris, I think the Lokar one was alright. The B&M one looks even better, looks to be a machined piece with three o-rings... I'd trust it.

The Lokar one we have made for the G8 has an OEM style end. The end emulates the factory transmission dipstick end and uses the OEM transmission seal which is supplied.

The Lokar one is less expensive, but once the B&M one is available I can order it for anyone willing to give it a try. $119.56 for the B&M one or around $90 for the Lokar version.
The fluid level should be the same for either transmission.

I would definitely be interested in buying the B&M, will shoot you a pm after the new year.

Greg, can you also get that B&M extra big trans pan? It's even bigger than the SS pan. I'd be up for a package deal.

Why the need for a dip stick? Not to take any potential sales away, but I don't see the need.
Procedure for checking the fluid level and filling are easy enough. I would rather have my trans closed to any contaminates.

In my experience: I have the lokar installed with my locking bracket and it's remained completely sealed with no issues. I've never heard of a single issue with the Lokar on our car. I frequently check the fluid just for peace of mind mainly, to see and smell if it's burning etc.

No, we don't carry the B&M part in stock. They are currently a special order item and will take 7-10 days to arrive to me.

That would be fine, will send you a PM. Need to change my trans fluid and filter too so will pick up some other parts as well. Thanks

I'd like to know the actual fluid level - I used to check it regularly on every other auto I've driven till now.

for me the fill procedures for a filter replacement is also a bit difficult - because I don't have a lift. so that whole - getting it perfectly level - then getting to temp zone . . . . .

it would be much easier for me to have the stick and a known set point.
