View Full Version : Will ZO6 two mode mufflers fit on G8?

The 07 and 08 Corvette Zo6 has these sweet two mode mufflers with dual tips that can sound mild to wild with a flick of a button. Each Muff has a butterfly flap that can opened to allow straight through flo or closed to allow through the rest of the Muff.

Anyone think these could be modded to fit the g8?

The inlets/outlets are wrong and how they exit in the middle.

From the pics that I have seen the inlets and outlets are on the same end of the muffler.

Hmmmm. perhaps if we only utilize the butterfly part of the z06 exhaust...

We have a few of them at the shop, this maybe something to kick around with for those who want quiet driving but WOT noise

here is a good picture of them and I dont see why they would not work... now can I find a set for a decent price is the question?

I like the idea a lot. Would be nice to cruise in "stealth-mode" and then nail it for a WOT roar.

Well you can do a electronic cutout but man they are expensive and loud as piss! You can do like penguin and run a second set of tips with glass packs but this is not an option for me.

When I originally posted, I was looking for some good V8 sound when driving alone and by flicking a switch to quiet it down when I had passengers in the car.

So you guys think that using these mufflers is feasable?

The inlets are too high which would make the muffler hang too low. If you changed the inlets then the tips would be off. Bummer!

BTW guys, I can have anything with in reasonable size shipped to my UK address, and then i can ship it out APO through the millitary post office. Its USPS, but i can priority and insure it. There is just limits on size and weight.:)

do you think you could flip the muffler upside down? I think a setup like this would be money for people like me who want to be an adult sometimes and a kid others :) I cant take customers with me if my car is super loud.

If you have both there and a G8... what do you think of the possibility of the vette mufflers fitting to the G8? Or do you want to sell me the vette mufflers and I will try?

The quiet mode is 10dB louder than the stock exhaust. That is not very stealthy... Isn't 10dB twice as loud?

it would be cheaper to just get electric cutouts with stock mufflers....
