Paul, is there an event where they close the circuit and the common man can pay to run a track day there? What is must be like to make that left turn and feel the mountain fall away from you as you bang through the gears for all you are worth! On my bucket list, more so than even attending an F1 at Monaco, driving this circuit before I pass is at the top of the list. And hopefully...in a shifter kart.

If you can't find it streaming live for free anywhere, then there's a pay per view service here.
Enduro Pack for AUD$14 gets you Bathurst + the next Gold Coast races.

The track is 6.213 km (4 mi) long, and is technically a street circuit, as the circuit is a public road when no racing events are being run, and there are many residences which can only be accessed from the circuit.
As a public road, on non-race days and when it is not closed off during the day as part of a racing event, Mount Panorama is open to the public. Cars can drive in both directions around the circuit for no charge. However, a strict speed limit of 60 km/h (37 mph) is enforced, and police regularly patrol the circuit.

Paul, do they run other sanctioning bodies' races on the circuit in the days prior to and in the lead up to the V8 Supercar race? And if so, are any of them kart races? Heck, I'd love to lease an arrive and drive ride just to be able to experience bailing off of that mountain in anger. I'd be screaming like Sargent Dan sitting in the superstructure of Gump's shrimp boat in the storm!

Porsche GT3's, V8 utes, Dunlop Series (last years hand me down V8SCars), Historic Touring Cars (60's and 70's).
I can't remember seeing any karts go around that track.

Number 22 HRT car got wrecked.
The only other car I remember getting taken out was a Nissan on about lap 20.....it hit a kangaroo and took out the front crossmember. Only 2 safety cars all day. The last 30 laps were amazing.

They showed a rear suspension camera like this yesterday that's pretty cool. This year they switched from live axles to IRS. This clip is from Winton in August. wydh92Qai_E That axle just doesn't look thick enough to me!

Black car is the same as mine. Something in the valvetrain would have let go on lap 2 & the brakes would have burnt out on lap 3.
They used to race VX GTS cars here in a Production Series and every week was the same.

Rear transaxle arrangement, gearbox is attached to the front of the diff.
But still no differential action, the rear is a locked diff.....inside wheel travels the same speed as the outside wheel. I don't know why they stuck with that.
