The Onstar service is deactivated but Bluetooth still works. As long as you have a car with Onstar already installed it will work. Audio from your calls will come over your speakers and you will be able to talk through the built in microphone. It is very easy to install it is located on the top of the inside of the trunk. You simply unplug your original and plug this one in. Then pair your phone and you can make calls using your steering wheel button and also answer using it. $40 shipped to the lower 48.

Not sure if it will work in an 09 G8. May work with other GM models.

Sorry guys, I ended up selling the unit on Tuesday. As for part number - i never got that info from the guy that sold it to me. I figure for the price i got it for, it was worth a try. It also did not work in my 08 G8.
